I’ve been shopping on Etsy for almost 15 years now and have found so many unique home decor pieces that I love! I’m sure most of you are already familiar with Etsy but if you’re not, it’s an online site with individual “shops” (including a lot of small home-based start-ups) with unique handmade and vintage items. Having the convenience of online shopping while also supporting a small business is huge.
There’s a challenge to shopping on Etsy though: there are over 100 million products, so if you search something like “pillows” you have to wade through thousands of them to find pillows that are your style. Since you and I have pretty similar tastes, I thought it might be helpful to share my best Etsy home decor finds and favorite shops with you. Let’s get to it… (post includes affiliate links; full disclosure statement available {here})
Bathroom Double Sconce
When we remodeled our powder room, I had a very specific light fixture in mind for above the mirror. I was looking for a two-light sconce that was a combination of white and brass. I couldn’t find what I had in mind anywhere until I thought to search on Etsy! There I found {this gorgeous sconce} that ended up being absolutely perfect for our space:
(See my post on bathroom shiplap for links to all of our powder room sources)
This light fixture comes in other finishes too, including brushed and polished nickel and rose gold.
Tissue Box Cover
I stumbled upon {this monogrammed tissue box cover} while browsing Etsy and knew it would make the cutest addition to our guest room:
Other Sources: Faux coral | White lamp (similar)
You can choose from 30 different thread colors to customize your tissue box cover so that it coordinates perfectly with your bedroom or bathroom.
Pillow Covers
The selection of pillow covers on Etsy is huge, and I love that you can message the seller if you need a specific size not listed and usually they’ll custom make it for you. Also, almost all of the shops sell just the covers instead of the full pillows with inserts. This keeps shipping prices low and allows me to reuse {these favorite throw pillow inserts} while only swapping the covers.
A favorite Etsy shop for well-priced solid and patterned linen pillow covers is Porterlane Home. I’ve bought several of {these tassel pillow covers} that come in the prettiest colors and are perfect for mixing with patterned pillows:
Others I’ve bought from this shop include {these light blue stonewashed linen pillow covers}, {these neutral stripe pillow covers}, {these neutral leopard print pillow covers}, and {these textured dot pillow covers}.
For designer fabrics, check out Linen and Cloth which is where I bought {these blue and green patterned pillow covers} that are a cross between paisley and block printing. They are gorgeous! I have them on our family room sectional paired with {these textured coastal blue pillows} that I snagged during Serena & Lily’s big end-of-year sale.
Another shop with lots of great designer fabric pillows is Pillow Time Girls, which is where I found {these gray & white dragon/floral print pillow covers} that are on our bed:
Other Etsy shops I’ve found great pillows at are:
Chloe & Olive | Pillow Flight | Lynn Chalk | Willa Skye | Laurel & Blush
Tip: Use pillow inserts that are 2″ larger than your pillow covers (for example, use 24″ throw pillow inserts with 22″ pillow covers). It gives your pillows a plump, full look! {These pillow inserts} are great!
Window Shades
Etsy is also a great source for custom drapes and window shades. Windows by Melissa custom made a pair of {these Roman shades with navy ribbon trim} for the upstairs landing of our previous home based on our windows’ exact measurements. They were beautiful and a perfect fit!
For custom window treatments using designer fabrics (including both drapes and shades), check out Lynn Chalk’s Etsy shop {here}.
Moroccan Leather Poufs
In the same space as our Etsy shades is another favorite Etsy find: {these white Moroccan leather poufs} from SouSou Design. I had fallen in love with similar poufs from Serena & Lily and was excited to find them on Etsy for a fraction of the price. Along with using them as ottomans by our daybed, we also used them in my youngest daughter’s room where they were great for extra seating when she had friends over:
Doorbell Sign
If you have a dog that goes crazy when the doorbell rings like Cricket does, this Etsy find’s for you! It’s a wood sign (found {here}) that you can hang on your doorbell so that no one rings it for deliveries:
Works like a charm and is so much better looking than the ugly sticky note I had by the doorbell before! I also bought {this “work call in progress” sign} for my sister who works from home to keep people from ringing her doorbell when she’s on an important work call.
Floating Canvas Frame
I wanted a large-scale art print for over our dining room console and ended up getting on {this large canvas landscape print} in the 40″ x 55″ size. Instead of using a typical frame, I decided I wanted it in a floating wood frame. After getting a super high estimate from a local frame shop, I decided to do it on my own with the help of two Etsy finds!
First, I ordered custom-sized stretcher bars to stretch the canvas over {here} (I hadn’t ever stretched canvas before but it was pretty easy). Then I ordered a custom-sized floating frame {here} to place my stretched canvas in. I LOVE how it turned out and that it saved me a ton of money:
Spice Jar Labels
Since our current home has a super small pantry, I decided to create space for spice storage in two shallow kitchen drawers. To optimize our drawer space, we cut two of {these tiered wood inserts} to size. Then I updated our spice bottles (we have {these glass jars}) with {these spice jar labels} from Etsy:
My spice drawers definitely make my organization-loving heart sing!
Frame TV Art
Part of our living room remodel involved mounting a TV above our fireplace after installing a new insert, surround, and mantel. We chose {this 65″ Samsung Frame TV} that hangs completely flush to the wall and displays digital art when not in use. You can get art through Samsung but it’s pretty pricey. Someone clued me in to the availability of inexpensive digital art options on Etsy, and I’ve found so many great ones (most for under $5)! Two of my favorites are {this digital heron art}:
and {this digital snowy deer art} that’s perfect for the holidays:
For other great Frame TV art options, check out Harris Lane Prints {here}, Willow Home {here}, Alluring View {here}, and 96th Avenue {here}.
Seasonal Wreaths
Handmade wreaths are some of my favorite things to buy on Etsy and I’ve had several over the years that have been gorgeous additions to our front door. For fall, I love {this stunning wreath} with peonies, pinecones, and pumpkins created by Latawnie of Style the Seasons. Pretty much everyone who came to our front door complemented on it:
For spring & summer, I love {this wreath with lemons} created by Tonya of Two Inspire You:
and {this tulip boxwood wreath} from the Etsy shop Lovely Wreath Decor:
See my other favorites in my post on spring wreaths for your front door.
I’ve found a lot of great seasonal ribbon on Etsy too – {this shop} is great for wide ribbon and {this shop} has beautiful velvet ribbon.
Decorative Woven Basket
Amsha Studio has the most gorgeous baskets in all shapes and sizes that are sourced from women’s co-ops and several independent artisans across Africa. I especially love their shallow baskets that can be displayed as art, such as {this Rwandan basket} on our family room bookcase:
Another idea is to hang a grouping of these baskets in various sizes on the wall. It would be stunning!
Shampoo, Conditioner, & Soap Pumps
I also found {these shampoo & conditioner pumps} on Etsy (mine are the 16 oz white/gold) on Etsy at The Polished Jar. Mine are glass, but they also have a plastic bottle option {here}) I LOVE them! They totally elevate the look of our bathroom:
I also bought {these hand and dish soap pumps} for next to our kitchen sink (mine are the 16 oz clear/stainless) that sit in {this tray} (mini size in gravel white):
Acrylic Frames
If you’re looking for a unique way to frame a photo or piece of art, {these acrylic floating frames} on Etsy are gorgeous! Your art/photo is sandwiched between two acrylic sheets and they’re held together by simple hardware in all four corners that comes in brass, stainless steel, or matte black. The hardware is also what the frame hangs from.
I used one of these acrylic frames to hang {this paperwhite art print} in the bedroom of our previous home and loved how you could see the shiplap around the edges of the frame:
Coffee Table Tray
I bought this large wood tray for our acrylic coffee table several years ago and it’s one of my all-time favorite purchases:
Having a coffee table tray not only makes your coffee table look neat and organized but I also love being able to clear everything off of it by simply lifting off the tray. The Etsy shop that I bought it from no longer exists, but I found {this Etsy shop} that sells super similar wood trays in an array of sizes and colors.
You can find lots of vintage pieces on Etsy too, including {this pair of vintage brass cranes} on our coffee table tray.
Get more tips and ideas for what to put on your coffee table in my post on coffee table decor ideas!
Art Prints
There are so many talented artists selling prints on Etsy! One of my favorites is Maren Devine – I love everything that she creates, including {this gorgeous floral print} that I had in our previous home:
and {this large warrior girl print} that I’m putting over the toilet in my girls’ newly remodeled bathroom:
Other prints of hers that I especially love are {this egret print} and {this beach print}.
Another Etsy artist that has lots of great prints is Lindsay Brackeen. I have {this tropical bird art print} from her Etsy shop in our powder room:
Clipboard Photo Display
I love finding unique frames for displaying photos or small art prints and this one tops the list! It’s {this darling painted wood & brass mini clipboard} created by Tanalee of The Heart Department Co.:
I love that it’s so easy to swap photos in and out and think it would make such a great gift! This photo is one of my long-time favorites of my daughter when she was little 🙂
Natural Bath Bombs
A soak in the tub isn’t complete without a bath bomb, but it’s crazy how expensive they can be! I found {these bath bombs} from The Bath Bomb Factory that are a great price when you buy them in bulk and they’ve become my go-to’s. They’re nice and big and I love that they’re made without artificial colors or scents.
In our previous home, I stored them in {this glass canister} on our bathroom shelves:
Floating Wood Shelves
My floating wood shelves are from Etsy too! You can find my exact floating wood shelves {here} and get the details on how I installed them, different wood finish options, and more in my full post on our bathroom floating shelves.
Other Sources: White woven basket (medium) | Gray & white striped planter (holding plant) | Colorful moth art print | Belly basket (similar) | Favorite bath towels
Coffee Scoop
Another fabulous Etsy shop is Beehive Handmade. It was founded by a husband and wife team and has the most gorgeous pieces from heirloom baby cups to measuring spoons and {this darling coffee scoop} that I bought years ago (the scoop part is a heart!):
Sofa Arm Tray
Also related to coffee, when Jeff’s at home he has a coffee cup in his hand at least half of the day. So when I saw {this sofa arm tray} that turns your sofa arm into a mini drink table, I knew it would make the perfect little gift for him:
It actually works really well and looks nice too! The slot in the front is for propping an iPhone, but it’s pretty slim and we found only fits phones with slim covers so I’d probably get the option without the phone slot if I was ordering again.
That wraps up my best Etsy home decor finds! If you have a favorite Etsy shop or Etsy find, I’d love to some new ones so leave me a comment with your faves!
