Ice cream, lobster rolls, Shake Shack burgers, and fresh guacamole & chips have been the foods of our summer this year! Nothing compares to sitting out on the patio on a beautiful day with a margarita and a bowl full of chips and guacamole – it’s Happy Hour bliss! I’ve been making the same guacamole recipe for years and absolutely love it – it’s as simple as 20 minutes of chopping and mixing and it tastes amazing! And if you happen to have any left over from Happy Hour, it makes a great lunch spread on toast as an open face “sandwich” of sorts. Everything tastes better with a little guac! And while I’m usually all about taking shortcuts in the kitchen (boxed brownies are perfectly ok in my book), I’m a guacamole purist. Using all fresh ingredients is the key to the best guacamole:
Ready to make my favorite, best-ever guacamole? (recipe serves 6)
I’m not big on a lot of spice, but if you want to add a little kick to your guacamole, throwing in some diced jalapeños will do the trick. There’s a pretty high probability that you’ll devour it all in one sitting but if you have leftover guac (or if you like to prepare it ahead of time), {this} guacamole saver (affiliate link) is the BEST:
It totally keeps your guacamole from getting all brown and gross sitting in the refrigerator for a day or two. I think the person who invented it should win some kind of lifetime achievement award for their genius, right?! 🙂 You can find the same guacamole saver I use and love and read other people’s glowing reviews of it {here}. And if you want to check out more of my favorite home gadgets (this is one of my five faves!) you can do that {here}.
Now open that bag of chips (Tostitos Hint of Lime are my fave!) and get eating!
This sounds so good Kris! I LOVE guac and could eat it every day. Can’t wait to try your recipe!
Thank-you Kris! That’s gone into my recipe folder ( actually I have a gmail account where I mail myself recipes for reference! )
Hope you love it – I could inhale the whole bowl 🙂
