Happy Saturday!! I’ve been busy this week working out a bunch of the details for my upcoming kitchen remodel along with dealing with some of the “fun” things that go along with winters in Connecticut (broken well pump & ice dam – ugh!) so it’s been a little quiet on the blog but I’m back today with a fun edition of “View It, Do It, You It!”. I’m sharing a few I-so-wish-I-had-them-in-my-home ideas for living pretty with your pets from a favorite designer whose portfolio will blow you away (“View It”), a new little must-have gadget I installed in our upstairs hallway that I’ve already ordered two more of – it’s so smart! (“Do It”), and some of my spring home and fashion favorites that I think you’ll love (“You It”). Let’s go (this post includes some affiliate links – see my full disclosure statement {here})…
I first discovered Lori Paranjape on Instagram where each and every photo she posts stops me scrolling in my tracks! She not only creates stunningly beautiful spaces such as this kitchen,
but every home she lays her hands on has unique details that are smart and functional in addition to being gorgeous. Being the dog lover that I am, a few of my favorites are this beautiful built-in rolling baby / pet gate:
and this pet wash station with built in steps and dog bowls (and did you notice that there’s a pot filler for easily filling the water bowl? Genius!):
There’s SO much more to see in Lori’s portfolio (like {this wine room} she designed – amazing!) – hop on over and check it all out {here} and read more about her design services (she’s based in Nashville but travels for clients too) {here}. And if you’re on Instagram, she’s a must-follow! You can find Lori at @mrsparanjape {here}. Thank you so much Lori for letting me share your amazing work!
This week I finally got around to installing the coolest little gadget that’s been sitting around my house ever since I ordered it all the way back in July (!!) – it’s a outlet wall plate that has a built-in LED night light so that you get all of the benefits of a night light without losing access to any of your outlets. Plus it doesn’t require batteries or wiring. The “installation” was so ridiculously easy that I felt pretty stupid for waiting so long to do it. You simply turn off the breaker to the outlet, remove the old outlet plate, pop this one on (the two prongs on the back fit around the two sides of the outlet),
screw the plate on and then flip the breaker back on. Literally under five minutes from start to finish! They’d be perfect for a bathroom where you’re always having to take the night light out to use the outlet or you can use it like I did to light up a hallway (now my girls can see to get from their rooms to the bathroom at night without having to leave another light on).
You can find the exact one that I have {here} – it’s also available in other colors and for Decora outlets. It’s the perfect little “do it” weekend project!
Usually I get all annoyed when stores start carrying the next season’s clothes and decor when the current season just started but in winter I’m ALL ABOUT bringing on the spring clothes and decor even if it’s still January. There are so many pretty new things that have me dreaming of the end of bomb cyclones, ice dams on my roof, freezing walks with the dog, and everything else winter!
On the clothes front, Ann Taylor is my favorite online store to shop lately and this weekend you get 50% off your purchase with GETWARM plus free shipping when you spend $125 or more. I ordered several things this morning, one of my favorite of which is this colorblock scarf (found {here}) that has my beloved grays plus some bright colors for spring – love!:
and these are a few of my other favorites that ended up in my shopping cart:
Anthropologie has 20% off full priced clothing and free shipping on orders $150+ which is a good deal for them – they don’t do that often! You can shop their clothing {here}.
Pottery Barn has lots of great new home furniture and accessories and this weekend they’re having their Stock Up & Save Event with 10-30% off and free shipping with code STOCKUP. Some of my spring favorites are these cute spring colored gingham plates found {here} that I’ll probably use for our Easter table:
and also these great pieces (scroll & tap/click to shop them):
It’s one of the best weekends of the year to shop online at West Elm too with 25% off many things plus free shipping with code FREETRIP. I used to hardly ever find anything at West Elm but within the past year I’m finding that I like more and more of what they’re carrying. I’m of course obsessively on the look out for any and everything I’d love for my new kitchen and this marble kitchen utensil holder that’s on my list is on sale this weekend (you can find it {here}):
And these are my other on-sale West Elm favorites(scroll & tap/click to shop them):
I’ve added sales from other stores I love over on my Shop page {here} so you might want to check that out too! Thanks so much for stopping by and have yourselves a wonderful weekend!
I have those guidelights and they’re awesome. Now they also have them for GFI outlets and they also offer some with built-in USB chargers. Also, the newer guidelights have a high/low light setting. And they make them for light switches also. LOVE the rolling dog gate!!
They really are super cool – I wish I had put mine in long ago! Love that they have them for light switches too!
I have been to Home Depot,Lowe’s,Menard’s,Ace Hardware stores in several cities & NO one has that LED Nite lite..where can I purchase this nigh t light? I reallly like it…
There’s a direct link to the one I have in the post – just go to the end of the “Do It!” section and you’ll see it under the last pic of it!
Kris,
I placed one of the night lights in my shopping cart on Amazon. What a great idea. I also love the scarf and several of the other items. You shop well, it’s nice of you to share your finds! 🙂
xo,
Karen
I hope you love the night light! I’ve got two more I’m going to put in my house this weekend! 🙂
Where can I purchase the rolling gate? I love it!
