There was also a lot of organizing that needed to be done because there were boxes and boxes of craft supplies from our old house that I had to find a place for. We had already filled up the drawers, shelves, and baskets in the built-in desk and still had more things that needed to fit somewhere in the room. The solution? I bought two large Rubbermaid All Access Organizers from Home Depot that fit perfectly in the space between the end of the desk and the wall:
The wonderful thing about these organizers is that you can easily stack them and still be able to access what’s inside. You can get to things by either opening the clear drop-down door in the front:
So, what do you think about the new space? My girls are thrilled with the style of it and they love that all of their arts and crafts materials are organized and easy to find. Me? I’m thrilled with all of the “wows” and big smiles that I got from my girls when the room was done and am hoping that this craft room remodel helps make our new house feel more like home to them.
Kid spaces are by far the most fun to decorate, don’t you think?! No doubt that making over the craft room beats taking down wallpaper in the kitchen, which is what I really should be doing. Ugh…
