It’s that time of year…the IKEA 2017 catalog is out and I’m seriously always strangely excited to take a peek at what they’ve come up with. There are definitely a few worth-checking-out pieces to share with you guys starting with their new ELVARLI shelf storage system which can be used for open clothes and shoe storage or even in a kitchen or bath:
While I’m a huge fan of their PAX closet system and used it in our old house (you can check out my PAX review {here}), an open system like this one is so much better for typical closets that aren’t walk-ins. I’ve been looking for great open shelving for our teeny laundry room and thinking the ELVARI could be the answer.
I’m also loving their new line of GRUNDVATTNET sink accessories which are perfect for those of you who have large single basin kitchen sinks. My favorites from the collection are the long cutting boards and colander that span the sink along with a rinsing tub that’s perfect for washing a few dishes without having to fill up the whole sink:
IKEA has several new tables including these KVISTBRO storage tables that have visible storage inside. While I don’t think these would work for me in most areas of our home, they’d be perfect for toys in a playroom!
IKEA is always smart about making the most out of small spaces and their new VALENTUNA modular seating is just that – smart. You can mix and match the individual seats to create any type of configuration you want and it includes seats that have built-in beds and storage:
The new BARKABODA walnut countertops are something I’m dying to see in person because they look beautiful in the pics!
And finally, IKEA has a new SVARTAN collection that will be available in September. The whole collection is done in black, white and greys and consists of bed linen, textiles, paper items, rugs, bowls, and glassware. Some of the art and pillow covers are intriguing:
To see the rest of what’s new at IKEA, you can grab a catalog at an IKEA store or wait until Monday when their digital version will be online.
Switching gears…let’s talk shiplap. OK, I hear the groans – are you all sick of shiplap? But what about black shiplap? Swoon! I LOVE this bathroom designed by Studio McGee – the combination of black, brass, and marble is my favorite:
I’m off to enjoy the weekend! For once we seriously have NO plans which is my favorite kind of weekend. Hope you all enjoy yours!
Love the black shiplap – but I also still love the white! (No groaning here!) I get excited about the Ikea catalog as well. There are always so many items that would be great for my kids’ rooms. Enjoy your relaxing weekend!
Shelley
Thanks Shelley! I still love any kind of shiplap too 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend!
Hi Jeanne! While I do have ads on my site (they’re what allow me to keep this blog going), I don’t have any pop-up ads because I find them just as annoying as you do. If you have a minute, do you mind emailing me what device you were using (desktop, phone, or tablet) and where the ads were showing up so I can look into it? Thanks!
One can install Chrome and the pop up ads will not show up.
That new countertop at Ikea is amazing!
I know, right?! I’m dying to see it in person! Enjoy your weekend Lisa!
Hi Kris,
What a fun preview of the latest IKEA innovations. I have a store nearby but I appreciate the heads up on some of their vast inventory. A person can easily become overwhelmed!
I’ll visit the links you’ve shared now. ????
I’m with you, my favorite weekends can be those that are free and clear!
Karen
I hear you Karen – IKEA is SUPER intimidating unless you have like three hours to leisurely shop (which I never do!). Hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend!!
Thanks Mary – I still love shiplap too but I’m hearing some people are getting sick of it – maybe not my readers 🙂 Glad you’ve never had pop-ups – you shouldn’t because I exclude those from my site. Thanks for letting me know! Hope you’ve had a great weekend!
I think your taste is impeccable! Love love the website. I will be a frequent visitor. Julie Hatchett
Julie – I’m so sorry I missed seeing your comment until just now! Thank you so much – so happy to have you visiting my blog!!
I will check out
The Local Vault. So love that vignette you did.
Stumbled here from Pinterest. I love the black shiplap. Though I would not use black in my home, it does look gorgeous with the marble. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of shiplap. It really is universal!
Excited to check out more of your blog. I love you style!
Thank you so much Heather and welcome to my blog! 🙂
