For my oldest daughter’s tenth birthday, she wanted to have her room repainted and get new bedding to make it less of a little girl’s room and more of a tween room. I kicked her out of her room for several weeks while I not only painted and added new bedding but surprised her with a new desk, fabric pinboard, lamp, and night stand. Some day I’ll have to share the video we took of the big reveal – her reaction was priceless!
My youngest daughter just turned nine but she’s already started planning for her tenth birthday room redo. She’s cut all sorts of things out of catalogs but they are a mishmash of color and design so I suggested that she either find some bedding to use as a jumping off point or decide on a color scheme for us to work with. I’m lobbying for pink and orange – I love this color combo and think they’re colors that she wouldn’t outgrow as she moves from tween to teen.
Check out these gorgeous rooms and tell me you aren’t convinced:

Are you loving the pink and orange color combo as much as I am??
I love this colour combo! I actually prefer it for my tween twin daughters but they chose green. It’s ok and I’m still decorating their room. Good luck with your younger daughters room. Did you post about the room you did for your daughter? Would love to see it!
Unfortunately, my daughter still isn’t convinced about the pink/orange combo but I’m still working on her! I haven’t posted about my other daughter’s room but will at some point when it’s actually clean so I can get some good pics!
Loving the pink and orange. My girls orange room is getting highlights of pink, whites, and greens this year! Yeah for almost being 2.
That sounds so pretty! Little girl rooms are so fun to decorate!
