Hi friends! I can’t believe how crazy fast both the weekend and the entire month of May have been flying by – between the kitchen remodel (we’re on the home stretch – woo hoo!), school wrapping up, celebrating two family birthdays and an anniversary this month, and lots of other little things, it’s been nonstop busy and I’m looking forward to a slower pace in June. It’s been a bit since my last edition of “View It, Do It!” but I’ve got some good stuff saved up to share including two beautiful decorating ideas for outdoor spaces from one of my favorite bloggers (“View It”), & decorative hardware that would totally transform the look of a furniture piece or cabinetry (plus I’m sharing my kitchen hardware choices!) (“Do It”). Let’s go (this post includes some affiliate links – see my full disclosure statement {here})…
Annie of Most Lovely Things is a talented blogging friend that I not only get to visit with online but in real life too – she lives just 20 minutes from me and we became fast friends after meeting a few years ago. Her style is impeccable and she’s one of my go-to’s for advice when I’m in a state of decorating indecision. Her home is every bit as lovely in person as you would imagine it to be online and I especially love a few of the recent changes she made to the outside of it (and knew you would too)! First off… her front porch. You guys! Tell me that this isn’t porch perfection!
I LOVE every little detail from the galvanized planters to the lanterns to the house numbers but I’m especially crazy over her new pink door color. Honestly, I never would have thought to paint my door pink but I love how bright, fresh, and inviting it looks! You can get the details on the pink color that Annie used and see more pics of her porch (she has the cutest porch swing!) {here}.
Another recent outdoor project that I’m crushing on is her new DIY outdoor drink table that she made with a planter and a $5 wood round – how clever is that?!
You can get all of the DIY details on how she did it {here} and if you’re on Instagram, you can find Annie and follow along with her future projects {here}.
One of the easiest ways to transform the look of a furniture piece or cabinetry is with new decorative hardware and the best part is that it’s a quick 10-15 minute “do it” project that you can knock out in no time. Between finding that one of my favorite knobs is on big sale and the fact that I’m knee deep in gorgeous cabinet hardware options right now (I need to make a final decision on my kitchen cabinet hardware this week!), it was the perfect time to share my hardware faves. First off… these fun dragonflies (bought {here}) that I used on our craft room drawers just went on big sale. They’re little works of art and made this space so much more fun and playful!
They’d look great on a chest of drawers too. Since “fancy” knobs like this don’t come cheap, one trick is to just use them on the top row of drawers and then do something simple and less expensive that coordinates (like round brass knobs) on the rest.
Moving on to the hardware that I’m deciding on for my kitchen… drilling holes in my new cabinets is a big commitment so I wanted to see all of my final contenders in person before making a decision. I have my work cut out for me – there are lots of beautiful options here (this is after I already eliminated several!):

My daughter has been indulging me by holding up various options so I can see what they’d look like together. It’s tough because there are several different options that I think would work beautifully – I guess I should be thankful for that! I’m definitely going with Amerock’s “Golden Champagne” finish – love it!
I haven’t pulled the trigger just yet, but this is the combo that I think I’m going for (I’m sharing my other favorite combinations on Instagram later today so you can stop in {here} in a bit to see them!). My commitment-phobe self is a little hesitant about the cup pulls since installing them would mean putting holes in spots that wouldn’t likely match any other hardware so I couldn’t easily trade it out in the future. BUT I do really love the look so I think I’m going to go for it – stay tuned…

If you want to see even more beautiful decorative hardware options for a quick weekend makeover, hop over to {this post on my favorite knobs and pulls} where I share sources for all of these faves and pics of where I’ve used some of them in my own home!
And if you have knobs with long stems that are poking too far into your drawers, I talk about the simple tool I use to cut those off in {this post} on my favorite home tools and gadgets.
Thanks as always for stopping by! If you have a minute, I’d love to hear what you think about my kitchen hardware options! Have a great start to your week everyone!
I think you will be very happy with the look you have picked for your kitchen hardware. I think its perfect and classic and elegant all at once. To me, it matches the style you have throughout your home. The acrylic handles are attractive but maybe more trendy. Stick with what you picked!
Thanks so much for the vote of confidence Linda! I actually just received them and can’t wait to put them on!
Great post. Love Annie’s door and your new dress. Going to pin all the hardware.
Mary Ann
Thanks Mary Ann – I can’t get enough of Annie’s door color. Just love it!
Love the cabinet hardware you are leaning toward! I have used that same pull in bronze many moons ago. So happy they are doing it in a more modern finish. Love Annie’s porch & outdoor space too! Happy Memorial Weekend!
Love that you’ve used that same pull before -the new finish is great! It’s the perfect not-too-brassy brass!
I’ve had a pink front door for 10 years and still love it! All my flowers in the front yard are in the pink spectrum, it’s just beautiful and I get lots of compliments!
I love that! I bet it’s so pretty!
