My youngest daughter is a total fashionista. Not in an over-the-top, glittery Justice dress kinda way like you’d expect for most tweens. But in a trendy but tasteful & super stylish kinda way. She’ll spend hours trying out different ways to braid her hair, is always painting and repainting her nails, and could shop for clothes all day. I’m not sure where she gets that from because it sure wasn’t her I’ll-take-my-robe-over-a-dress-any-day mom!
So when the two of us did some brainstorming about what to do with the big blank wall in her bedroom, we decided that the perfect thing would be….a purse wall:
And let me tell you, this is a workhorse of a purse wall, doing double duty as wall art and storage (yep, we’re using the purses to store all of the oodles of little things that my daughter collects!).
We’ve been planning this purse wall for a long, long time. But finding purses that met the trifecta of matching the colors in her bedding, meeting with my fashionista’s approval, and being cheap wasn’t so easy. We were both so excited to finally get it done! (post includes affiliate links – see my full disclosure statement {here})
After debating between several unique decorative wall hooks, we ended up going with CB2’s Arrow Wall Hooks. They come in silver but I lightly sanded them and then spray painted them gold (I used Design Master Gold Metal Metallic Spray) over the weekend:
Some of the purses are still empty (for now) but most of them are already being used to store things like her many, many, many little animals:
So fun!
If you missed last year’s makeover of my daughter’s bedroom (which is loaded with some great DIYs!), you can check out the ‘before’ and ‘after’ {here}.
Thanks for stopping by guys!
So cool Kris! love how this room turned out!!
Thanks Stephanie – redoing her room has been a fun one for us to work on together!
so many things to love. i just love her room and the colors, and those hooks! who knew cb2 had those? well, you. but i didn’t and i adore them! and LOVE the purses- they are soooo fun and eclectic, and perfect for your girl!
Thanks Cassie – she definitely pushes me outside of my color comfort zone (which I love!)
Looks awesome!! Another project, well done!!!
Thank you so much Stacy!
Very cute!
Thanks!
Great idea but for my bags I would need minimum 4 walls:-)
Ha! You’re my kinda girl Kate!
What a great purse wall! I really like the wall hooks you chose. I’m sure your daughter really loves it. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Lauren! My daughter gets all the credit for the choosing the hooks – they’re pretty cute aren’t they?!
Love the purse wall! I showed my 12-year old this morning and she loved it too! She gave a huge thumbs up to the arrow hooks…and the fact that they were painted gold…even better! She was just saying last night while at Home Goods that she “wants to bring a little gold into her room”… a girl after my own heart!
Sounds like your 12-year old and my almost 12-year old are decorating soul sisters! Love that she wants to bring a little gold into her room – my kinda girl!
My friend’s daughter had an antique purse wall years ago, and I haven’t seen one since! Such a great idea for a fashionista and to use for stowing her treasures, too!
Thanks Pam – we’ve seriously been planning this for almost two years but dang, it’s hard to find cheap purses! We’re both loving that we finally got it done!
Sooooo doggone clever! Jen had a collection of antique purses that once graced the wall of her bedroom…she doesn’t know it but they are gonna be in the barn sale !!!
Ha! Your barn sale is going to be the place to be!! Wish i could come!
I love this idea both for little girls and big girls (aka Adult purse collectors)! Especially for the ladies that collect designer bags, why stash them away when you can put them on display. Ha! I didn’t mean to rhyme.

I think I’m going to have to defer to you for all of my blog post titles from now on – clever and rhyming without even trying! 🙂
This is such a fun and functional idea for a girl’s room! I love the variety of purses and how the colors tie in with the room!! So creative and different, and a fun project to collaborate with your daughter on!!
Thanks Lisa – it was a long, long, long time coming so we’re glad to finally get those purses off the floor and up on the wall!
So cute Kris and great colors. Worthy of a true fashionista! 😉
Thanks so much Kristi!
this is one of the cutest girl room ideas I’ve seen! Just amazing, love them on the green wall.
I really appreciate that – I’ll pass your sweet words on to my daughter 🙂
Such a fun idea! It turned out so cute!
Thanks Becky – my daughter’s pretty excited about it 🙂
This is so cute! I love the purse organization on the wall. Totally loving the rest of her room too. So cute.
