Have you guys seen all of the plaid goodness going down at Target this fall? Emily Henderson worked her styling magic with a bunch of home accessories from their fall collection to decorate this fabulous space:

Don’t you love it? (check out her post on Target’s fall style {here} if you want to see more room pics!). I stopped by Target last week and wanted to just dump the whole plaid shebang into my cart but I showed some serious restraint and only walked out with this cute oversized gray plaid throw:
I also had one of these darling plaid rolling pins in my hand but it was too difficult of a purchase for even me to justify considering that I already have a rolling pin and use it all of about once a year. But dang… it sure would make me happy that one time every year 🙂
I did finally follow through on a purchase that my husband and I have been wanting to make for over a year now – we finally have a fire pit! The ones I was truly in love with were just too much money (and they weren’t discounted all that much at the end of last season like I was hoping) so I went with this fairly inexpensive Distressed Bronze Firepit from Lowe’s:
It’s a good size, has a clean simple design, and has both a spark guard and vinyl cover. I’m going to finish setting it up on our patio tomorrow and will snap a pic to share on Instagram with you guys.
And one final great buy to share (can you tell that the money from selling the furniture in our old house was burning a hole in my pocket?) – I’m in love with this Asymmetrical Zip Jumpsuit from J. Crew. It actually looks best on me zipped all the way up (rather than the half-zipped way they show it in the pics) and it’s the perfect length which means that it runs short (I’m only 5’3″). I’m so into this jumpsuit that I strong-armed my sister into buying it too. #twinning
OK, back to design. I’m in the middle of wrapping up a bunch of projects around the house so it’s not the best time to be jumping into a big new one but that’s exactly what I’m doing because another One Room Challenge is starting up! For those of you not familiar with the ORC, it’s a challenge hosted by Linda of Calling it Home in which participants make over a room from top to bottom in six weeks. This will be my 4th time participating in the ORC – the previous rooms that I decorated through this challenge are our guest room,
and our powder room:
Thanks for putting up with a little Tuesday randomness! I hope to see you guys back here on Thursday for the scoop on the room that I’ve chosen to make over for the ORC and my plans for the space. See you then!
Love the plaid! So glad to hear you’re doing ORC again! Love your previous spaces. I’ll be joining in too this time! I’m actually super excited to get my space done, but as always, I’m wondering if a few plans might be too ambitious! Ha! We shall see!!
Yay! I’m glad that you’re going to be in the ORC again too Denise! Looking forward to seeing what space you’re making over!
I’m looking forward to another great round of ORC!!!
Darlene
Me too Darlene – there are always so many great before and afters!!
That jumpsuit is super cute – I love the asymmetrical zip detail. Your new throw would look great on your dining room table with some natural elements, no?
You would have seen it if we had gone to that cocktail party 🙁 Love your idea about the throw – I may have to try that!!
I’m disappointed that I haven’t seen much plaid at our Target. I’m not sure if we just didn’t get much or if it’s already gone! Loving all of the designs, though. Looking forward to your new ORC!
Really? Our Target was so loaded up with it! Are you going to do the ORC again?
I need to head to Target! I may copy you on that throw! Can’t wait to see what you do for the ORC!! I was going to attempt to be one of the taggers but can’t get my act together soon enough!!
Come on and jump into the ORC with me – I’m totally unprepared too!!
Loving all the fall plaid for Target! I’m impressed you showed such restraint and the blanket is super cute and cozy!
Target has some of the cutest stuff this fall! I think the blanket will be perfect for cozying up in by our fire pit!
Oh I’m loving the gray/tan? rolling pin. Need one. Mine bit the dust lol it would definstely be fun to use. Thanks for the tip????
Yes, you do need it! And I can then live vicariously through you! They also have the cutest baby rolling pins – a matching set would be too cute!
Love the plaid blanket! Can’t wait to see your ORC room! By the way, the boxes were a no go, so still searching for something for that wall. Stay tuned. 🙂
Hi Kris! Can’t wait to see what you come up with for the ORC! Quick question about the fire pit…do you feel like it’s tall? We have been in the market for a fire pit too, so after I saw your post, I ran to my nearest Lowe’s, but couldn’t pull the trigger because I was worried about the height. What do you think now that it’s assembled?
Hi Laurie! I actually like the height of the fire pit – if you don’t include the cover, the height is about the same as the seat height on my outdoor chairs (I posted a pic on Instagram if you didn’t see it: https://instagram.com/p/8gSmp1whvr/?taken-by=drivenbydecor ). I like ones that sit off the ground a little since they’re easier to stand around when there’s a big group and I’m not worried about scorching my patio! We will be firing it up for the first time this weekend – can’t wait!
Love all the plaid…I need to go to target! Good luck with the ORC..
WOW! I want some plaid!!!
Your ORC’s are the best!
