There’s lots of fall home decorating inspiration coming your way today because I’m joining some of my blogging buddies to share 30 tips for fabulous fall decor! I actually met all of these amazing ladies over the summer and can tell you that they’re ever bit as sweet and beautiful as they are talented! I’ve included clickable images to everyone else’s tips at the bottom of my post so you can be sure not to miss any of them. There’s also a full source list at the end of the post if you have questions about paint colors or where I found something and I’ll also link up some sources for my fall decorations as I tour you around. Let’s get things rolling with my tips! (post includes some affiliate links – see my full disclosure statement {here})
Yep, my first tip is as simple as that – if you’ve got a spot that you want to add some fall touches to, you don’t have to go shopping all over town to find the perfect fall accessory. Just load up on pumpkins (the $1 white baby boo pumpkins are my favorites!) and put a pumpkin on it! That’s exactly what I did with our dining room china cabinet and I actually like the look of this it-only-took-five-minutes fall decorating more than other fall looks that took hours of planning.
A few of the many other spots I used baby boo pumpkins that you might have spotted in my fall home tours are in a trophy cup in my living room:
and precariously balanced on the lion head door knocker in our home office:
Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE using flowers for centerpieces and for brightening up a room. But there are so many beautiful fruits and veggies in season during the fall that I love to use them in the same way that I use flowers! This fall I used peaches in my favorite wood bowl for the centerpiece of my fall table:
I also love the look of a simple bowl of red or green apples:
or even a centerpiece of veggies in fall hues is beautiful. And how great is it that you can eat your centerpiece after your dinner party is over 🙂
Another option is to use pretty fruit or veggies for place cards, like I did with pomegranates on our Christmas table last year:
My last tip is the most important one – when I’m decorating my house for fall, of course I want to make it pretty but even more importantly I want to make it cozy and add in a little dose of fun. I recently had a friend over who cozied up in one of our living room swivel chairs (this one below!) and said that she was so relaxed and comfy she never wanted to leave. A compliment like that means much more to me than one about my decorating – I love when people feel warm, welcomed, and cozy in our home!
One of our favorite cozy spots is our living room window seat – it’s too high for Hope to jump up on her own so the second that one of us cozies on in, she’s right there asking to be picked up to join in the snuggle fest:
And for fun, we’re a family who loves our sweets! So while this little outdoor bar cart is a great beverage station for gatherings on our porch in the summer,
it’s also the perfect spot to hold everything we need to make S’mores over our fire pit including {these telescoping marshmallow roasting sticks} we just got this fall (they’re awesome!), marshmallows in {this large glass jar} and graham crackers in {this smaller jar with a silver lid}:
Now that you’ve gotten my three tips, it’s time to move on to Randi Garrett Design {here} and check out hers! Randi and I are neutral-loving design soul sisters so I know you’ll love what she’s got in store for you! Randi will direct you on to the next stop on our blog hop but in case you want to make sure you don’t miss a stop, here’s the full line-up:

Thank you Shauna! I hope you have the best time in NYC this weekend!!
How you’ve used pumpkins, fruits & veggies is fabulous. You’ve inspired me to go buy a few pumpkins tomorrow! Also, your tablescapes are amazing. The little owl plate and print napkin won my heart. Do you recall where you found these?
Aime I’m so sorry for the late reply – I overlooked your comment! The owl plates were from Anthropologie but unfortunately are no longer available. The napkins were made from some fabric remnants I had of a Schumacher Chiang Mai fabric.
Kris, Love all of your tips… That window seat is my favorite, although… your back porch is just magical. Your table is so beautiful… Well done! Such a pretty fall you are having ????
Thank you so much Summer! XOXO
Hi, Kris!
Plan you, please, let me know the size of your Grand plaza prints? I found them in one internet store, but the size appears to be huge – 33 x 43″…..
Thank you!
“Can” not “plan” 🙂 sorry for the typo
Mine are pretty close to that – 32″ x 42″ (including frame)!
Did you make that window seat cushion or did you purchase it from somewhere?
Heather, I had to have it custom made since I have an odd sized window seat.
Such great tips. I’m going to buy my pumpkins this week! Thanks for the blog post, it’s spot on.
Thanks Denise!
I have been struggling for years to figure out what to do with our bay window! I’m in love with yours ! Can you please tell me where you purchased the seat cushions and also the curtains ?
Thank you !!
Hi Jennifer! Unfortunately the curtains were made from fabric that’s been discontinued. As far as the window seat cushion, all of the details on it can be found in this post: https://www.drivenbydecor.com/a-french-mattress-style-cushion-for-my/
