After letting Thanksgiving sneak up on me, I decided to try and take back the upper hand with this sneaky holiday and start decorating our Thanksgiving table. While my decorating isn’t complete, I did get the major players in order. For place cards, I kept it super simple and used a few strands of burlap to tie together each set of silverware with pretty fall leaves that I snagged off of the viburnum bushes in our backyard. I added each guest’s monogram with simple white stickers – I experimented with cursive lettering stickers and more traditional block lettering ones:
On the top tier, I placed a few pinecones topped by Mr. Tom Turkey (isn’t he a cute little guy?!) and on the bottom two tiers I scattered some small pumpkins that I had used elsewhere in my home in decorating for Halloween:
Now I’d better start focusing on my Thanksgiving menu because I haven’t even bought my turkey yet…I wish I could get as excited about the cooking as the table decorating but I’m having a hard time getting my cooking mojo on. Do you have any Thanksgiving favorites that you think I should add to our menu?
