Welcome to our guest room…

Living close to New York City, we get a lot of guests (which we love!) so I decorated our guest room in textured neutrals to create a relaxing haven for our friends and family to stay in while at our house. Here’s how the room looked when we first moved in – yikes!
I did several DIY projects when making over this space, including transforming a boring IKEA TRYSIL chest into this fabric covered beauty (you can find my IKEA hack tutorial {here}):
I added new roman shades to our large guest room window:
The other end of our guest room has a little nook where we placed the living room love seat from our old house and a pair of metal drum tables:
Our guest room doesn’t have a closet, so I took this old TV armoire:
and some paint, new hardware, and some modifications on the inside, turned it into a wardrobe armoire for our closet-less guest room:
Inside are a set of DIY personalized wooden hangers to make our guests feel welcome and at home (see the how-to of this personalized hanger DIY {here}).
Thanks for touring our guest room with me! To check out the rest of our work-in-progress house, you’ll find our full house tour {here} and a complete source list for our guest room below. And if you want more guest room ideas, you can tour the guest room in our NC home {here}:
