I mentioned in an earlier post on subway signs that friends of ours are turning their dining room into a home office – it makes sense for them – they rarely use their dining room but he works from home and would love to have a nicer working space than what he currently has in the basement! In addition to wanting two of Restoration Hardware’s subway signs, they have fallen in love with the Printmaker’s Desk (for their working space), the Flatiron Desk (for their printer and an additional work surface), and the 18″ Vintage Barn Pendant.
These Restoration Hardware pieces would definitely create the hip, industrial vibe they are looking for but it’s going to come at a price:
That’s over $1500 less than the Restoration Hardware version, which would give my friends more money to invest in some great window treatments and save some money towards a kitchen reno (the next project on their list!). What do you think – is the copy cat version the way to go or would you pay the extra $1500+ and go with the Restoration Hardware version?
