The Best Simple Hostess Gift Ideas!

Traveling to visit family & friends and backyard summer parties are two of my favorite things about summer! And both mean being prepared with hostess gifts – I try to stay stocked up on them so that when a trip comes up or a party invite arrives, instead of making a frantic last minute run to find a hostess gift, I have a stash of gifts that are ready to roll! And they’re a lot more thoughtful and unique than a gift you grab on the go. Ready to snag a few of my ideas? (post includes some affiliate links):

LOVE these simple hostess gift ideas! I'm stocking up before the holidays!

Some of my favorite hostess gifts involve pairing a small gift with a cute tea towel. And let me tell you, there are some seriously adorable tea towels out there like {this Boston terrier tea towel} or {this Persian cat towel} that’s perfect for a pet lover,

Love this cat tea towel as part of a hostess gift!

    Gingiber

{this watercolor floral tea towel} that’s so beautiful that your host could even frame it as art,

or (if you have time to order something personalized), one of {these beautiful monogrammed tea towels}:

    South of Libbie

These are a few other favorites (images are clickable):

Depending on the event, a beautifully wrapped tea towel may be enough of a gift but if you’d like to give a little more, a few of my go-to ideas are to wrap a tea towel (I used {this one} in the pic below) around a bottle of wine or sparkling cider and tie it with a ribbon:

Love the idea of wrapping a bottle of wine with a beautiful tea towel for a hostess gift!

or include a favorite treat! It can be anything from a bottle of gourmet syrup (I bundled mine with {this towel}):

to a jar of local honey:

HomeGoods is my go-to place for stocking up on these unique little treats at a reasonable price – if you’ve always walked by their food aisle check it out next time you’re there!

Some other hostess gift ideas include a special candle like {this “Home Sweet Home” soy candle} that comes with an adorable linen drawstring bag,

The perfect hostess gift! A personalized candle wrapped in a linen gift bag

    The Shabby Wick

or {this monogrammed mini cheese board} – so cute!:

And of course flowers are a hostess gift that you can never go wrong with! Just be careful about bringing fresh cut flowers to your host if it’s during a big party where he/she might be busy in the kitchen or mingling with all of the guests – gifting a bundle of flowers that your hostess is going to have to cut the stems off of and find a vase for can be inconvenient. In that case, it’s best to bring a bouquet that’s already in a vase (or I often use a simple mason jar). If you want to give a bigger hostess gift (like if you’re staying at someone’s house for a few days), a small bouquet in a beautiful pot or vase that can be reused in the future is a sweet gesture:
A small bouquet of flowers in a pot that can be reused is the perfect hostess gift idea!

The planter that I used above is {this cute patterned black pot}. I’d love to hear about your favorite hostess gifts too – I’ve always got my eyes open for some new ones!

    XO,

Love the local honey idea Kris! Our community farmer’s market has jams and other homemade goods that are nice to give as hostess gifts too. My sister in law frequently will bring me pretty paper cocktail napkins wrapped in ribbon when they come over and I love them. Hope you are enjoying your low key weekend!! So nice to not have a million things to do for once!

Love the idea of having a stash of gifts. I’m a huge fan of pairing something like wine or a candle with a tea towel too. I love the patterns from Telunalife.com
      Best,
