I’ve tried lots of different wood furniture polish but this one that was recommended by a friend is the best! Works so much better than anything else!
During our kitchen renovation, our home office became our eating and cooking headquarters. We ate meals at our office desk (which is actually a table so it worked out well) and plunked our kitchen table at the other side of the room with our microwave, hot plate, paper plates and silverware. It wasn’t the least bit glamorous but it worked! Once our kitchen remodel was over, it was time to put our office back together and give it a good cleaning (the dust from our remodel was seriously unbelievable)!

My home office console definitely needed a little TLC and I tried a new-to-me product called Howard Feed-N-Wax (available {here}) that a friend of mine recommended for polishing furniture – I wasn’t expecting anything much but this stuff really amazed me!
It polished my piece beautifully without the overly shiny finish and residue that other polishes leave behind but what really blew me away was that it totally made the minor surface scratches and even some water spots from a vase completely disappear. I wish I had taken “before” photos but I didn’t know if would make such a difference!
So put polishing your wood furniture on your to-do list for next weekend, order a bottle of this stuff, and go to town on it – you won’t be disappointed! And on an unrelated note, did you notice the “new” desk in our office? I ended up getting a new table for our kitchen eat-in, putting our old kitchen table in the office, and getting rid of the old office table – I’m liking the switch-up! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by everyone!
Wow, love the entry, so beautiful.
Kris, what is that cool looking wood slice hanging on the wall? Love it!!
It’s actually a cutting/cheese board that I found at HomeGoods! Pottery Barn has a similar one too!
I’m also a fan of the Feed N Wax. A manager at the local antiques store told me about it, and I am very happy with how well it works. Of course, I don’t usually get around to using it until the dust is fairly obvious, so the results are very satisfying:)
That’s so great to hear that even an antiques dealer recommends it! It truly is kinda fun to use when you see what a difference it makes!
Kris,
I’ve ordered the Howard’s product. I have a couple of antiques that could use some extra TLC. Your console is truly beautiful and I could see the difference. I love that entry and will need to tweak my space a bit, namely, I’ll have to look for a team of prints to flank either side of my mirror.
xo,
Karen
P.S. Thank you for keeping your ads to the side. I understand (as a blogger) the work involved and the desire to earn a little while dedicating so much time producing posts (in your case, wonderful posts every time!). But it’s gotten so distracting when the ads are placed between each paragraph. It’s ruined certain sites for me. So thank you!
I’m super late in responding to comments on this post but hope you’ve liked the Feed N Wax! And I truly do appreciate the feedback on ads – I’m about the only blogger who doesn’t have them on desktop but I just don’t like them myself either so keep them off. It’s nice to know that someone else feels the same way 🙂
I love Feed and Wax and have used it for 20 years. It works amazing on old farm tools, metal toys, etc as well as new and antique furniture!!!
I love the idea of using it on old tools – would have never thought of that! Thanks!
