Just like a lot of other things with teenage girls, coming up with Christmas gift ideas they’ll love can be pretty tricky! As a mom of two teenagers, I’ve definitely had my fair share of gifting fails but I’ve also figured out a few gift ideas that are winners time and time again. Today I’m partnering with Pottery Barn Teen to share six go-to ideas that are sure to please even the pickiest of teen girls on your Christmas gift list! And along the way I get to share a little sneak peek of what I’ve done so far with the room they’ll share in our new house in NC – it was so much fun to get it prettied up for the holidays and filled with gifts they’ll love! (post includes affiliate links; full disclosure statement available {here})
Before jumping into my no-fail Christmas gift ideas, I wanted to pass on something I recently learned – most non-furniture items from Pottery Barn Teen can be returned to your local Pottery Barn store for a merchandise credit if they don’t work out! So not only is it the perfect time to buy gifts from Pottery Barn Teen because of all the sales and promotions they have going on (often including free shipping) but returns are simple as well! Now on with my top six list…
1. Cozy Pillows, Throws, & Bedding
The new beds came for the girls’ room (I bought them {here} in the weathered white finish) so I wanted to get them all ready for our holiday visit. One thing that’s pretty much universal among teen girls is that anything soft and cozy is a win! I don’t know what Pottery Barn Teen’s softness secret is, but their fleece and faux fur pillows and throws are about as soft and cuddly as it gets. One of my favorite throws is {this faux fur ruched throw} that’s the perfect size for snuggling and comes in three teen-approved colors. I have it in the light gray on the beds in my girls’ new room:
(The duvet cover is from Pottery Barn Teen too – it’s {this textured diamond duvet cover} in vintage ivory). My other favorite is {this cozy pom pom throw} – I have one I use myself in Ivory and my girls have it in the Quartz Blush:
And for super cozy pillows, my oldest teen’s favorite is Pottery Barn Teen’s Cozy Euro Pillow Covers found {here} – she has it in Powdered Blush on the bed in her dorm room and it’s the one she grabs when she’s studying or lounging on her bed because it’s soft and nice and large:

More dorm room details are in {this post}
And for a cozy bed, surprise your teen with super soft flannel sheets! You can go with a solid color like {these Heathered Organic Flannel Sheets} in blush that are under the tree for my girls:
or one of these cute patterns (my oldest teen likes the sloth pattern the best and my youngest likes the llamas):
2. Beauty Accessories
If one of the teen girls on your Christmas gift list often paints her own nails, this Cozy Sherpa Mani/Pedi Lapdesk is a great gift (you can find the newest version of it {here}) – my youngest teen loves it! It has a cozy Sherpa base that sits on your lap and a flat surface for nail painting that opens up for storage of nail supplies:
It comes with a manicure set so it’s a nice gift without adding a thing, but you can also add nail polishes, patterned nail files, or even a small gift card to the inside to make it more personal. Monogramming is also an option! Another great beauty gift is this Elle Lacquer Light Up Mirror found {here}:
It’s simple and sleek, comes in two pretty colors and has an LED border that lights the mirror up with a flip of the switch! Also check out {this Ava Frosted Acrylic Beauty Mirror} that both of my teens give a thumbs up to.
3. Jewelry Boxes
A lot of girls are given a small jewelry box when they’re really young and the teenage years are the perfect time to make an upgrade to one that’s more age-appropriate. Pottery Barn Teen has some great jewelry boxes that are stylish enough to be teen-approved but also classic enough to be used for years and years to come. This Chloe Jewelry Box found {here} is a favorite:
Like with the mani/pedi lapdesk, it’s a beautiful gift alone but you could also add a little surprise inside such as one of {these constellation necklaces}.
4. Robes & PJs
Pottery Barn Teen’s Robes and PJs are every bit as crazy cozy as their throws and pillows. I just may have test driven this Cozy Sherpa Robe found {here} that I’m giving my daughter while I was wrapping other presents 🙂 :
Pottery Barn Teen has really cute flannel pajamas too including these favorites:
And as either a fun add-on or stand-alone gift check out this Cozy Hand Warmer found {here}. It has an opening on each end and has a wheat grain bean bag inside that can be removed and heated in the microwave to keep hands warm and cozy for hours. As an added plus, it keeps them off their cell phones 🙂
5. Travel Gear
I gave both of my girls Pottery Barn Teen carry-on suitcases years ago when they were tweens – they’ve held up beautifully but the girls have now outgrown the peace sign and flower designs they chose. I gave them several options for suitcases to put on their Christmas wish lists this year and they both chose this monogrammable Channeled Hard-Sided Quarry Carry-On Spinner found {here}:
It’s so pretty that when my sister saw it she said she’s putting it on her own Christmas wish list! A nice carry-on is an especially great gift for older high schoolers who will soon be off to college and traveling back and forth to home. If you have a smaller budget, a toiletry bag is a great idea:
This one has four zippered compartments that roll up for easy storage – this exact one isn’t available this year but you can find other similar options {here}:
6. Lounge Furniture
My girls love to lounge (what teenager doesn’t?!) and the cozier the lounging piece the better! I chose this Cozy Sherpa Beanbag Chair found {here} for my girls and it’s definitely a win! It’s BIG and has the same sherpa material on the cover as their super soft pillows and throws:
Another great lounging option that’s on a smaller scale is this Lounge Around Pillow ({this Cozy Lounge Around Pillow cover} over {this Lounge Around Pillow Insert}) that can be used pretty much anywhere from on a bed to the floor or a sofa:
That wraps up my list! Thanks as always for stopping by the blog and I hope there’s a gift or two I shared from underneath our tree that will be the perfect thing for your daughter, granddaughter, niece or other teen girl on your Christmas gift list!
XOXO,

Kris, love your girls’ room! What color is the wall paint? It’s the perfect gray!
Thanks and Happy Holidays!
Kris Jarrett says
Thanks Peggy! It looks gray in the pic but it’s actually white (with some shadowing from the window) – Benjamin Moore Simply White. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Janie says
Thanks so much for these great suggestions. I just ordered the marble carry-on for my granddaughter and got 25% off so it’s a deal! I love your blog….Janie
Kris Jarrett says
I hope she loved it and that you enjoyed your holidays!

Kris, I look forward to your weekly updates so much! Just love your designs and ideas. You indicated you purchased a flocked tree from Walmart, which is just beautiful. Do you have any suggestions for a pre-lit smaller flocked tree?
Kris Jarrett says
Thank you! Unfortunately I don’t have a good source to share because the only other flocked tree I have is about the same size as this one.

Love the PB Quarry Spinner Suitcase. It’s going on my Christmas list for my 16-year-old! Thanks!
P.S. Love your daughter’s dorm room too!
Kris Jarrett says
Thank you so much! Hope she loves it!

Kris,
I caught a glimpse of teen ‘likes’ with my tween granddaughter visiting us for Thanksgiving. Her wish list for her birthday (Thanksgiving Day) included more teenage items (jewelry, journal) than the dolls and stuffed toys she used to prefer. 🙂
Great ideas, as always.
xo,
Karen

Yes! It’s crazy how all of the sudden there’s a big change to their wish list as they get older!
Nippon says
Helpful one! Thank You so much.
Raven says
I love how you used ribbon on your tree! I tried to replicate this look last night, and it didn’t turn out quite as beautiful! Any tips or advice? Thank you!
Kris Jarrett says
Hi Raven – I cut my Christmas tree ribbon into long strips and start by burying one end of it deep into the tree. Then I kind of make a wave with in (you need to use wire-edged ribbon) and cascade it down the tree on the diagonal. Finally, I tuck the other loose end in and start again. Hope that helps!

I just absolutely love this tree, it’s so beautiful! I have been searching for the perfect Christmas tree theme and I most definitely want to use this for reference! Is there any way you would be able to point me into the direction where you got your ribbons at? Thank you so much!
Grace Long says
PERFECT FOR ME! I need and want all of these things!! <3
Jen says
Kris, I’m in love with the tree!!! Where is it from?
Kris Jarrett says
It’s actually from Walmart! I got it several years ago so this isn’t the exact one but it’s super similar (same brand): https://rstyle.me/+l5T0JI0Cfs3-N-xwjmdU0A (affiliate link)
