Stylish Fireplace Accessories That Will Elevate Your Space

As we roll into fall and the evening temperatures start dipping, I’m excited to start cozying up in front of our fireplace at night. If you have a wood-burning fireplace, along with your roaring fire you’ll need a few key fireplace accessories on hand. Along with ho-hum boring options, there are quite a few stylish fireplace accessories that can really elevate the look of your space. From fireplace screens to log holders and tool sets, I’m sharing my stylish favorites! (post includes affiliate links; full disclosure statement available {here})

    Fireplace Screens

Fireplace screens serve an obvious practical purpose, but they’re also a great way to showcase your style. If you haven’t shopped for fireplace screens in a while, you might be surprised by how many attractive options you’ll find. Whether your style leans toward modern, traditional, or eclectic, there’s a fireplace screen to complement the style of your space.

After scouring all of the available options, it’s no surprise that I prefer single-panel fireplace screens with a simple design and clean lines. While it’s not cheap, my top choice is {this glass fireplace screen} that’s available in two sizes and three finish options (brass, polished nickel, or oiled bronze) for the legs. It’s so simple yet chic:

These are my other favorite single-panel fireplace screens in a range of price points:

Three-panel folding fireplace screens are another option. While I prefer the look of a single-panel fireplace screen, three-panel screens are another option. They have the advantage of providing easier access to the fireplace since they don’t necessarily need to be moved to stoke the fire or add more wood to it.

Two of my favorite three-panel screens include {this Deco tri-fold fireplace screen} that’s available in antique brass or black:

    and {this glass 3-panel fireplace screen}:

When choosing a fireplace screen, in addition to considering the style of the screen, make sure your screen is appropriately sized for your fireplace opening. Flat fireplace screens should be at least 2″ wider than the width of your opening. Folding fireplace screens should be at least 20% wider. The ideal height for your fireplace screen is 1-5″ higher than the height of your fireplace opening.

And now on to the next of our must-have fireplace accessories…

    Log Holders

When choosing a log holder, consider both functionality and aesthetics. Some are meant only to hold a small stack of firewood by the fireplace, while others also serve as carriers, helping you to carry firewood inside. These are my stylish favorites:

    Eight stylish log holders

Source links: 1. Leather sling log holder | 2. Iron U-shaped log holder | 3. Braided handle log holder | 4. Modern brass log holder | 5. Woven log holder basket | 6. Woven rattan log carrier | 7. Woven suede swing log holder | 8. Black curved log holder

Another option is to use a simple basket such as {this basket} where we kept firewood by our fireplace in our previous home:

Detour! 😂 Can I take a sec to mention how insanely high prices on home decor and furniture have gone up in the past several years? I bought this exact basket for $59 several years ago and now it’s $199. 😳 {This basket} is a very similar size for a much better price!

Now on to our last of the fireplace accessories… tool sets.

    Fireplace Tool Sets

A set of fireplace tools, including a poker, tongs, brush, and shovel, are another must-have. There are plenty of options in a range of styles, including fireplace tools to complement a traditional or transitional fireplace like {this set}:

or tools for more modern spaces like {this set}:

These are a few other favorites:

And with that, I’m off to enjoy the rest of the day and head to the beach for an outdoor dinner. It’s pretty packed at Wrightsville Beach all summer but September and October are still gorgeous weather months without the crowds so we take full advantage! My sister recently told me that she’s heard this time of year called “Locals’ Summer” – love that!
