Hi everyone! I’ve been adding some touches of spring to our house over the past few weeks and am excited to be taking you on my spring home tour today! The super sweet and talented Marty of A Stroll Thru Life has actually organized a whole week-long line-up of spring home tours for you – it all started at Marty’s house yesterday (be sure to check out her house tour {here}) and today it’s time for me and five other bloggers to share our homes. If you’re coming over from Claire Brody’s stylish home, welcome!
For those of you who are new to Driven by Decor, our family moved to Connecticut almost three years ago where we live in a classic New England home that we’re slowly renovating and making our own. Mother Nature threw us for a loop with one last (hopefully..) snow of the winter yesterday so the pretty spring porch pics will have to wait another few weeks. Go ahead and shake that snow off your boots, come on inside for a mug of coffee, and let me take you on a little tour starting in our foyer (post includes affiliate links – see my full disclosure statement {here}):
Full source list at end of post!
The weekend before I started my spring decorating, Whole Foods had their tulips half off and the number of bouquets that jumped into my cart was a little bit obscene. I bought several colors but my favorites are the yellow tulips combined with the blue and white vase, fabric-covered books, and my favorite good-luck elephant from HomeGoods on our foyer chest:
Tulips even made their way into our powder room where a small bouquet sits in a teacup on my vase holder (aka ancient toothbrush holder):
Our powder room walls look like wallpaper but they’re actually stenciled (if you missed out on this project, you can see the heinous “before” pics and read more about that project {here}).
Heading into the kitchen, it’s a bit of a mess because I have a project in the works that I’ll be sharing in the next few weeks but we can still take a peek around. Some of my favorite things in our kitchen are the nesting herb crates (available {here}) that hang on the wall of our eat-in area – they hold all of our tabletop necessities (placemats, napkins, salt & pepper, etc.), keeping everything close at hand. And one of them is the perfect size for three little mason jars to fill with flowers:
Around the corner from my hanging crates is our baker’s rack with a few simple spring touches:
I’m not typically a fan of faux flowers but this year I found some decent ones at Michael’s that I used in {our spring front door decoration} and in this basket on our baker’s rack. The baker’s rack also has a few tablecloths to throw on the patio table outside as soon as the weather warms up along with some glassware and woven storage baskets:
At the opposite end of our kitchen is our little coffee station (you can see the “before” and “afters” of that project {here}) and my cute chalkboard print {here}:
Now let’s head on to the living room, passing through our home office as we go. Do you spy my little photobomber?!
Our home office gallery wall is one of my favorite projects to date:
To brighten things up for spring, our lion head door knocker took on the job of flower holder:
I also tacked a little spring printable (downloaded from Etsy) onto my tree slice “art”:
Our family room got lightened and brightened up for spring too with touches of pink and green:
I found the green pillow covers on a recent trip to IKEA and love them – they’re a great shade of green, are made from a material that feels like linen, and are a whopping $7 each. They also go great with the colorful spring throw that was draped nicely over the back of my couch until Hope decided she needed something to nest on 🙂
On our end tables, I added a few spring flowers to one of my thrifted trophy cups:
Our fireplace mantel has a few new additions for spring:
I swapped out our horse print (he’ll probably reappear in the fall) for this spring deer print which was an inexpensive Etsy printable:
And we have a new piece of cork bunny art thanks to my daughter who came up with the idea after finding some thin cork sheets at the craft store. We simply cut out bunny shapes from the cork sheet, hot glued them onto the paper, and then added a small faux flower for each bunny tail:
At the far end of our living room is our rattan bar cart – I picked up that beautiful pink hydrangea plant from Stew Leonard’s and am hoping to get it planted outside in the next week or two:
And finally, we’ll take a quick peek at our dining room:
This Easter it’s going to be just the four of us so I kept the table decorations pretty simple. I used {this napkin folding tutorial} to fold napkins into bunny ears, using a bobby pin to clip the two ends of the napkin together in the back once I was done (I placed the bobby pin on the inside where you can’t see it). Bigger napkins (mine are 20″) work much better than smaller ones for this:
I also sliced up a few lemons and added them to vases of Trader Joe’s flowers for a pop of color:
The flowers are actually in a separate water-filled vase within the larger hurricane vase and the lemon slices are sandwiched in between them – it keeps your flowers alive and the lemon slices in place! I’ve added a few other touches of spring to our dining room but I’m going to wait and show those to you guys a few weeks from now when I’m part of a fun spring blog hop that involves showcasing this space.
I hope you all enjoyed my spring tour! If you’re new to Driven by Decor and want to get emails notifying you of new posts, you can sign up for that {here} or you can follow me on Instagram {here}.

Your house is so beautiful! Your office and gallery wall is so amazing and I adore seeing little Hope in the photos.
Thanks Julia! Hope typically doesn’t stray more than a few feet away from me so she ends up being a frequent photobomber in my pics 🙂
Everything is gorgeous! What a whole lot of pretty tweaking you did. I just bought myself some tulips from the grocer yesterday 🙂
Thank you! It’s amazing what a difference a little $5 bouquet of tulips can make, right?
Beautiful Kris!!!!!! I love all your flowers and pretty touches! Your daughter’s idea for the bunny art is adorable and I love the bit of green you brought into your living room for spring. Everything looks gorgeous!
Thanks Lisa – I’ll tell her you said that – I’m thinking she’s going to be my resident artwork creator from this point on! 🙂
You home is always so pretty and I love the touches of spring. The green pillows really are a pretty color and I adore the mantel vignette. The bunny art if perfect. Thanks so much for joining the tour.
Thank you so much Marty for organizing another wonderful tour – it’s so appreciated!
Your home looks beautiful, Kris! Wonderful inspiration for spring decorating!!
Thank you Mary!
I adore the bright pops of pink tulips and touches of spring green. Your bunny napkins are adorable!
Thank you so much! I did the bunny napkins last year and my girls loved them so much that I decided they needed to make a return appearance!
Love the fresh flowers! I also love the hanging crates and your bakers rack! And I might just steal your idea of a coffee station. You have 2 shakers in the tray, one is cinnamon, is the other sugar?
Thank you! Yes, they are cinnamon and sugar shakers – I wasn’t sure if the sugar would work in the salt & pepper shakers but it comes out just fine!
Beautiful! Loving all the fresh flowers and tulips!
Thank you Jenn!
your home is always gorgeous! i love the touches of pink in all the florals! beautiful, kris!
Thanks so much Cassie!
Absolutely gorgeous! Everything is so fresh and fun. Love the way you styled your mantel.
Thank you Stacey!!
Your home is gorgeous!!! I love how you made small updates to spruce things up for the new season. I need to run out for some tulips now! 🙂
Thanks so much Kristen!
Can you share the source for your office light? I am looking for something similar for my own office. Beautiful home!
Sure – sorry I forgot that in my source list – the light’s from Shades of Light!
Kris, thank you for walking me through your home. As I toured, I had an overwhelming sense of calm. I could pull up a chair in any room, sip herbal tea, and feel the joy of spring that has sprouted in surprising places.. Now that winter is boxed away, I’ll join you in adding spring to my own home. Thank you for inspiring me.
I don’t think I can get a better compliment than that – thank you so much Susan!
Just gorgeous, Kris! Love those bunny napkins.
Thank you Kim!
Love your pretty flower market! 🙂 The fresh pops of color are perfect for spring, and I always love the beautiful yet comfortable vibe you create! Oh, and the photobomber’s bone looks bigger than him!
Thanks Pam! Thats actually one of her many stuffed animals – there are about ten of then strewn all over our house 🙂
I love your style! So pretty. What are the rules on mixing metals or metal finishes in a room? I am confused about this. I have dark bronze curtain rods and a bronze ceiling fan in our family room but is it okay to add some gold finishes here and there?
Thanks Jane! I love to mix metals and wouldn’t say there are any rules – I’ve never mixed those two finishes before but if you like the look of it, go for it!
Beautiful tour Kris!! Love the dining table center piece with those lemons especially! What a great idea!! ❤️❤️????
Thank you so much for stopping by Shauna! Hope you have a wonderful Easter!
Everything looks so fresh and inviting!! I’m ready to sit down at that famous dining table and visit over a long, drawn out meal. The green and yellow mixed together is so fresh and springy!! I just love every detail! Thank you for the lovely introduction!! xox, Emily of 11gables.blogspot.com
Thank you Emily – loved your tour too!! XOXO
Thanks for sharing your spring home with us, Kris!! It’s amazing (as I had no doubt it would be) and all of the little seasonal changes are just perfect as usual????
Thank you so much Bree – you’re so sweet! Have a wonderful Easter weekend!!
Hi Kris, Your home is beautiful in every season! Love all the tulips….I couldn’t find a single one in our entire town.
That’s so funny Sherry because tulip bouquets are everywhere in CT this time of year – maybe because we’re so desperate to kick out the cold weather – ha! Have a wonderful weekend!
Love the bunny art on your mantel! This is the first time I’ve seen your bar cart. I love it! I’ve been wanting a rattan cart. 🙂 Beautiful home, beautiful tour!
Thank you Carol! I had been eyeing that bar cart for ages and lucked out when it showed up on Craigslist last year! Hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend!
You are the queen of Spring! Your house looks fabulous. Could you fly out here and shake my place up!!
Ha! You probably don’t need to springify your inside when you can already live it outside! I do need to fly out there though sometime to visit your fabulous home and hang with you and Mary Ann!
Kris, your home is gorgeous! I think I commented before how much I love that lemon idea. All the flowers make everything feel so fresh and ready for spring. I love the cork bunny project. Creativity runs in your family! Happy Easter!
Shelley
Thanks Shelley – I’ll let my daughter know you were admiring her artwork 🙂 Have a wonderful Easter!
The dark grey walls with the light brown and silver is so nice! I love the lion head holding the flowers.
Thanks so much Chelsea!
Your home is gorgeous! I love the beautiful pink and yellow flowers, the lemon centerpieces, and I couldn’t stop staring at that awesome tile on your fireplace! <3
Thank you so much!
Your dining room is so beautiful! What paint colour did you use?
Hi Lauren! It’s a slightly tweaked version of Sherwin Williams’ Keystone Gray. The exact formula is at the bottom of this post: https://www.drivenbydecor.com/house-tour-dining-room
Kris….it’s all so pretty and love that pop of green in the LR with the Ikea pillows! I see a trip there in the future:) Happy Easter!
Thank you Sherry!!
I love all the splashes of pink and green you have added for the spring. Such sweet ideas. When you purchase your prints do you print them on photo paper or just regular card stock? Thanks!
Hi Audra! I’ve actually tried both ways and like the look of just the card stock the best. My printer is actually a huge pain in the butt and won’t take card stock so I end up just printing them on regular paper and using spray adhesive to then adhere them to cardstock (a pain but it works!).
A beautiful tour! I also love your gallery wall in your office. I especially love your sliced lemons inside the vase of the dining room table. Genius!
Love the hanging plates. Where did you buy the plates?
Sorry Simone – I’m just now seeing your question. All of the plates are Juliska brand – I bought them at one of their annual warehouse sales where they have second quality plates at a huge discount!
Hi Kris- you’re home is exquisite. Everything is perfectly placed, I love your sense of aesthetics and It didn’t cost you an arm and leg to furnish and accessorise. I especially love your entrance foyer , the baker’s rack and herb crates- how beautiful and clever!
I live in a large, bustling city in India and I’m about to start a project to build a house in the countryside as a getaway from time to time.
Your house has given me plenty of ideas to steal and copy from you!! I especially love
Thank you for your website and I shall be following it regularly, maybe I can keep you updated on my house too.
Look forward to keeping up with your blog!
Namaste!
So beautiful! I love the feel of the whole house. Can you share the paint color used in your home office? It is the perfect shade!
Sure Maureen! It’s Benjamin Moore Nightfall!
Your home is beautifully decorated Kris! Can you share the dark gray paint color in your office? That’s the exact look we’re going for in our daughters room and Id love to see how your color would translate on her wall. Thank you for sharing your talents!
Sure Kristie! It’s Benjamin Moore Nightfall.
I’m curious what your morrocan tile/wood fireplace surround is made of? What substance (paint, wood, tiles)? And where to purchase?
Hi Cindy! My fireplace surround is tile – it’s from Walker Zanger’s Sterling Row collection. If you go on their website, you should be able to find a Walker Zanger tile dealer near you!
Hi Kris,
Your home is absolutely stunning. You did an amazing job.
I was wondering. What is the paint color you used in your office?
Thank you,
Jess E.
Hi Jess! Our home office is painted in Benjamin Moore’s Nightfall.
I OVERlove your pictures! Could you please tell me the color on your walls: 1. behind fireplace mantel and 2. in your dining room? We just closed on our house a few weeks ago and we’re in the process of deciding on colors and themes/decor for each room. Your pics gave me so many marvelous ideas. I will be checking back often to see what else you do that might inspire. xoxo
Thank you so much Tamara! Those are actually the same color! I just wrote a new post about all of the paint colors in my house including those rooms – you can find it here: https://www.drivenbydecor.com/my-homes-paint-colors/ Hope that helps!
Hi there ! I love what you did on your home office. I love the gold frames with the dark paint. Could you please please tel me what color paint did you use?
Sure – the walls are Benjamin Moore’s Nightfall!
Pretty!! All of it is so very pretty. Thank you for sharing your home with me and for the source information. I raise my cup of coffee to you. ??
