It’s easy to find inexpensive beds BUT affordable beds that are also stylish and don’t look cheap are harder to come by! So I scoured all of my favorite online stores for stylish beds that don’t break the bank. Today I’ve gathered together all of my stylish, affordable favorites including affordable metal, wood, and upholstered beds. Let’s get to it… (post includes commissionable links; for more information, see my disclosure statement {here}).
Affordable Metal Beds
Unless you want to use a simple headboard instead of a complete bed with side rails and a footboard, metal beds are going to be your least expensive option. There are lots of great styles in classic white and black but you can find them in other finishes too. These are my six favorites, most of which are under $200:
1. The Fernwood metal bed found {here} in the queen size has a classic, wrought-iron style with double X-shapes in the headboard and footboard.
2. This gold metal bed found {here} has a simple style with beautifully clean lines
3. The Florence metal platform bed found {here} in white, gray, and black, has a timeless design
4. The Maddie metal spindle bed found {here} has prominent spindle detailing in a transitional style. It’s available in dark bronze, off-white, black, and gray.
5. This black steel framed bed found {here} has a very modern style and is available in all black or black with wood accents
6. The white Fletching bed found {here} is made of metal but looks like it’s constructed from bamboo with an open brickwork design. It’s the most expensive of the bunch but also my favorite!
Affordable Wood Beds
I found lots of beautiful wood beds including some with natural wood tones and others that are painted. Wood beds are typically quite a bit pricier than metal beds but these all currently sell for under $500:
1. The Stavern natural platform bed found {here} has a beautiful rattan headboard
2. The Greenport louvered bed found {here} has a coastal style and is available in brushed white, driftwood, walnut, and gray
3. The Tulia bed found {here} is the prettiest shade of green!
4. The Grady natural wood platform bed found {here} is gorgeous! I love the look of the natural wood but it’s also available in white and a darker wood option.
5. The Loft solid wood panel bed found {here} has a simple design that you’ll love if you’re a minimalist.
6. The Markovich solid wood platform bed found {here} has a nice, tall headboard and is available in gray, white, black, and cherry
Also check out {this simple white wood platform bed} that gets great reviews.
And while it costs a little more than the above beds, I love and recommend {this beadboard bed} that we have in our guest room in the weathered white finish. It’s also available in four other finish options.

Affordable Upholstered Beds
Upholstered beds are the hardest type of beds to find at inexpensive prices because most of the really cheap ones are poorly constructed with low quality fabric. In choosing my favorite affordable upholstered beds, I looked for beds that have nice looking fabrics, a beautiful design, and of course don’t break the bank. These are my six favorites:
1. This tall upholstered bed found {here} was rated 4 or 5 stars by 91% of reviewers. It’s available in white, light gray, dark gray, and light khaki.
2. This vertical channel tufted bed found {here} has a more modern look and is available in white as well as other fun colors including green, pink, blue, and black. Also check out {this similar upholstered bed}.
3. The Summons square tufted bed found {here} has a more contemporary design and is available in an attractive light blue fabric as well as gray and navy.
4. This Annalissa upholstered wingback bed found {here} comes in a natural beige color and has a design that would work with almost any style of home.
5. This Louis upholstered wingback channeled bed found {here} comes in a versatile neutral fabric and is the perfect mix of modern and traditional design.
6. This Bowdoin upholstered wingback platform bed found {here} has a uniquely curved headboard design and comes in light or dark gray as well as some unique color options including burnt orange, light yellow, and turquoise.
And while it’s a bit more expensive than the above affordable favorites, also check out my Tilly bed {here}) that I had in the guest room of our previous home and primary bedroom of our current home:

One thing to know about several of the beds on my list is that there’s often assembly involved, which is part of the way they’re able to keep the price down. So you might have to put an hour or two of sweat equity into putting them together. My upholstered guest bed took a little over an hour from start to finish to unpack and assemble. It’s totally worth it in my opinion, but if you hate assembly, read the description of each bed thoroughly to know what you’re in for.
