The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open to the general public starting TODAY, July 21st! In case you aren’t familiar with the Anniversary Sale, it’s different from most sales because it includes brand new fall merchandise – they actually put it on sale right as it hits the shelf and then after the sale it goes up to full price! Big discounts are the norm (30%-40% off is fairly typical) and Nordstrom offers free shipping AND free returns so you can do all of your shopping online without fighting the crowds in-store. Things go fast so I treat it as a buy now, decide and return later kind of sale.
I shopped the sale early since I’m a Nordstrom cardholder and wanted to share a few of the sale items that I’ve already gotten and love (post includes some affiliate links)! First off, they have lots of beautiful throws – I ordered this gorgeous, chunky cable knit ivory throw (found {here}) at about 40% off and love it! It also comes in grey, pink, and teal.
Nordstrom also has several Dash & Albert rugs on sale including this grey and white Honeycomb rug in our family room:
They are sold out of the largest size but it can be found {here} in sizes up to 5 x 8. Another great Dash & Albert rug on sale is this gray striped rug (found {here}) that my mom just ordered:
And I’m excited to get this black and white cotton rug (found {here}) that I’m hoping will be perfect for our newly remodeled guest bathroom:
Nordstrom also has lots of great pillows at huge discounts including this beautiful watercolor floral pillow (found {here}) with the cutest tassel corners – it looks great in my mom and dad’s house:
I also picked up a pair of {these} gray tiered fringe lumbar pillows that are the perfect size for chairs and decorative bed pillows:
They are available in gray, navy, and one or two other colors and are under $25 – such a deal! (Update: they had sold out but just restocked in all three colors!!).
Last week I mentioned that I already own {these pillows} and was excited to see that they were included in the Anniversary Sale but they have sold out too. The good news is that Nordstrom did just add {these pillows} to the sale which are very similar – they’re the same brand, color, and size but a different pattern.
On the fashion front, I got these great Vince Camuto booties (found {here} for $50 off) which my teenage daughter immediately swiped from me:
I’m pretty sure I’ll live in these this fall (if I can pry them away from my daughter 🙂 ). They do run a little bit big so if you’re between sizes, I’d size down but they seem true to size width wise – I have a slightly narrow foot and they still hugged my foot well.
I also love this versatile striped leather tote (found {here}). I had a hard time committing to a color choice on this one because the other color combinations are great too!
Most of the clothes that I ordered are still on their way but I got a couple of things including {these lounge pants} that I love – they’re super soft and a nice fit (flattering on both me and my oldest daughter – we each got a pair!):
I also got {this T-shirt} which I loved until I realized it was Dry Clean only. Umm… no thank you – it’s going back. I’m anxiously awaiting {this super cozy cardigan} which has amazing reviews and I know will be unbelievably soft since it’s made by the same company that makes my favorite robe (also on sale – you can find it {here}). And I can’t wait to get {this bell sleeve fleece pullover} that comes in a TON of colors (I ordered it in Eclipse).
My other favorites from the Anniversary Sale are gathered together below. I’ll keep adding and updating my sale favorites in this post and on my Shop page throughout the sale so keep checking back!

Happy Shopping!
Hello,
So, you’re going to Montreal? Great idea! As a Montrealer, I can tell you that my city is vibrant, happy and has good restaurants and museums!
Since you seem to love shopping, please do go to the Simons’ Store on Ste-Catherine street, downtown Montreal. They have great clothes (2nd floor for you and 1st floor for your young daughters if you want to bring them a “souvenir” from Montreal!) 🙂
They also have lovely home products too (2nd floor).
If you want to have a good Montreal bagel, there are plenty of them in Montreal in the Mile End area.
And, yes, we speak French but a lot of us speak English as well.
Have a great time in Montreal!
Thank you so so much!! Looking forward to exploring your city – everyone I know who’s been has loved it!
Great picks! I love everything in here! Enjoy your trip!
Thank you Monique! It was so much fun!
Kris,
We moved into our new (to us) home last Saturday. I may take a look online, which is a huge benefit right now. (Emptying boxes, hanging pics, trying to find the things I’ve already put away, fun but time consuming! :-))
I’ve wanted to visit Montreal and Quebec…especially after reading the Louise Penny series Inspector Gamache. The descriptions of the food the surrounds could be condensed and used on a travel brochure. Have fun.
xo,
Karen
Karen, how did your move go? Are you still drowning in boxes? We loved Montreal and have Quebec on your list to visit next!
