My Lee Industries Sectional: Review & Details

When we made-over our family room in our CT home (see my post on family room ideas for more details and pics!), the key piece that we needed to buy for the room was a large sectional. I did a TON of searching and ended up deciding on a Lee Industries sectional that I couldn’t love more! I’m sharing all of the details on our sectional and a quick review! (post includes affiliate links; full disclosure statement available {here})

    My Lee Industries Sectional

Our family room was the largest room in our house and we wanted a sectional that we could customize to fit our space perfectly. I ended up going with {this Lee Industries slipcovered sectional} that is classic & timeless with an arm design that gives it a more updated feel. There are nine different sectional pieces that we were able to choose from to get the custom configuration that worked beautifully for us. I definitely think it’s one of the best sectional sofas out there:

Sectional sofa in neutral fabric in living room

Sources:  Chandelier (satin bronze)  |  Rug  |  Acrylic coffee table (similar)  |  Coffee table tray (28″ square)  |  Rattan chair  |  White ceramic garden stool  |  Gray linen tassel edged pillow cover  |  Cream tassel corner pillow cover

There are several reasons why I went with Lee Industries – first off, we knew we would have this sectional for many years to come so wanted to invest in a high quality piece that would last. I did some serious homework while sectional shopping and while Lee Industries products are far from cheap, they are really well made and great quality for the price. We also have had two of {these Lee Industries swivel chairs} and a Lee Industries loveseat for years and have been super happy with how both the fabric and cushions have held up. I was also really happy with the style options and went with slipcovered because I love the look and also for practicality – each sectional piece has its own individual slipcover so if we ever have a big spill or stain, that slipcover can be removed and taken to be cleaned.

Lee Industries offers a ton of fabric options – I went with the Basket Natural fabric because it was the perfect neutral look that I wanted. They also offer some really nice performance fabrics too which I’d recommend if you have young kids. Our kids are teens and we only have one not very messy dog so a performance fabric wasn’t as important for us:

We'll email this post to you, so you can come back to it later!

For cushion choices, we went with the Haven seat cushions and Natural Lee back cushions.

Where to Buy Lee Industries Sectionals

The most economical way to buy a Lee Industries sectional is purchasing one through Crate & Barrel (you can check out the Lee Industries sectionals they offer {here}) or Serena & Lily (you can see their sectionals {here}) and choosing one of their stock fabrics. These two stores don’t offer as much customization as going through a local dealer or designer but if one of the configurations they offer works for your room, it’s usually how you’ll get your best price. Unfortunately, while {this beautiful sectional} was similar in design, none of the sectional configurations offered fit our space so we had to go custom.

If you need to go custom too, you’ll pay more but have almost endless options. Many interior designers can order Lee Industries sectionals for you or you can order through a local Lee Industries retailer which you can search for {here}. If your head is spinning looking at those sectional price tags, I get it – it literally took us two years to pull the trigger on a nice sectional because it was so much money!

My 7-Years Later Lee Industries Sectional Review

We’ve had our sectional for almost seven years now and honestly I have nothing but positive things to say about it. The fabric has held up beautifully and the cushions have maintained their shape really well. The connectors between the individual pieces are great too – they hold the pieces together really securely and aren’t difficult to disconnect when you want to move things around:

I would 100% buy one again! Do you have any questions about it? Ask away! And be sure to check out my post on the best sectional sofa that’s full of shopping tips!

Hi there, Beautiful room – Looking at the Lee sectionals too, the swatch i have of basket natural looks so much darker than in your picture. On a large sectional does it lean lighter and would you say it would go with Classic Grey walls? I’m also looking at their Sahara fabrics, did you consider any of those? Thanks so much!

It’s a little darker in person than it appears in these pics but definitely not too dark. It’s totally neutral so I’d honestly say it works with just about any wall color.

I am about to order two Lee sofas and am agonizing about the cushion options because my design center only had the Cloud 9 to sit on. How did you make the decision on cushions? I am looking for something soft but will hold it’s shape and not require constant maintenance. Thanks so much!

Hi – I am planning on ordering a Lee sofa with slipcovers and am agonizing over the fabric. This is for a condo in Florida, so I want to go with a washable white or off-white fabric. Just nervous because we have been known to spill red wine from time to time! Have you had to deal with any serious spills on your Basket natural yet? Have you tried washing your slipcovers?

I haven’t had a horrible spill like red wine yet but my dog did throw up on it – it didn’t totally come out with cleaning products but I took it to the cleaners and they were able to get it out. I’ve never washed them myself. Hope that helps a bit!

I have this same sectional and I’m in the process of ordering a new slipcover! I came across your post and actually am considering Basket Natural! Is it holding up nicely so far? My origins slipcover wore horribly which is so unlike a Lee product. I have another sofa and a few Lee chairs that are still looking perfect after 9 years!
Would love your input on the fabric! Thank you!

        HI Michelle,
It’s held up really well! I do have to say that my kids are older so it doesn’t get exposed to spills and such very often but my dog is always all over it. I haven’t laundered the slipcovers yet because they still look perfect!

Hello. What a lovely room! You mentioned buying that sectional blindly. Could you explain what it means? I researchef the Lee dealers in my area but they didn’t have the sectional I liked so am wondering how to proceed. Thanks for sharing all the beautiful rooms in your home

        Hi Mar,
I never saw my Lee sectional in person before buying it – I was able to test out their different cushion options and choose a fabric at our local design center but never actually saw the exact sectional I purchased in person before ordering it. Lee has a TON of different sofa and sectional options that your local dealer is able to order for you but they don’t keep many in stock so often you are buying a style that you haven’t seen in person before. Hope that makes sense!

      Hi Kris,
I am currently looking at that same sectional from Lee, but the website does not list the depth. Can you tell me the overall depth and the actual cushion depth? I have a tall hubby and that’s his number one request for our new sectional.

        Hi Amanda,
Sure – the overall depth is 40″ and inside depth is 23″. If you click on the link to the sectional and then click on the small book icon close to the bottom, it will bring up another page with the dimensions of every single piece – it took me a while to figure that out! Good luck with your sectional shopping!

Brenna – you’re the best! It would be a gin and tonic instead of a pina colada but no doubt that would work like a charm!!

This room is looking great Kris. And thanks so much for providing your links. I’ve been regretting our restoration hardware sofa that is waaaay to deep and large scale for our living room and we’re missing our old sectional. I’ve been considering Lee’s because of the quality but it’s hard to find floor models isn’t it?Did you see yours at crate and barrel? We’ve got one close to us in Huntington Beach.

Hi Leslie, our Lillian August store has a lot of Lee models but my sofa wasn’t one of them. I ordered it blindly just based on the online image so was pretty nervous about whether I’d like it – luckily it ended up being perfect for our room!
