Finding a rug for under our kitchen table is on my ever growing to-do list, so when I got the most recent catalog from FLOR in the mail, instead of taking its usual path straight to the recycling bin, I took a few minutes to browse through it. I’m intrigued by using FLOR tiles to create a rug for under the kitchen table because my small dining space is much longer than it is wide so no standard sized rugs work well. I also love the cleanability factor – if you have a spill, you can simply take up the tiles involved, wash them off in the sink, and then lay them back into place. Perfect for under the kitchen table where there are spills aplenty! After browsing through FLOR’s latest catalog, I became even more interested in the possibility of using their carpet tiles because their new Spring Collection includes some pretty cool stuff, such as their Hey Jack carpet tiles in a Union Jack style design. Although this hip floor tile wouldn’t work well with the style of my house, I love it for a more modern home!

Another of FLOR’s new designs is Mod Cow, which comes in either black or brown. As you already know if you read my post about decorating with cowhides, I think cowhides can add a lot of decorative interest to a room – these tiles could do the same thing in a modern setting.

Keeping with the animal print theme, FLOR also has a new zebra print carpet tile, Mod Zebra II (update: no longer available).

The Mod Cow and Mod Zebra are both pretty fun but, again, too modern for my house. I am more intrigued by some of their new tiles with a textural, patterned design like Sweater Weather, which has the look of a warm, cabled sweater – love it!

I’m also smitten by the basket weave design of their Coming Along tiles for more of a natural fiber look.

The chunky textured Roadside Attraction tiles are also great and would add a lot of warmth to a room.
