Between eating all of our meals at home and having my whole family around to constantly mess up the kitchen, I’m spending more time cleaning and cooking in the kitchen than ever. I’ve tried several new kitchen tools & gadgets and have used the heck out of the ones I already have and love. Today I’ve gathered together my 15 Amazon kitchen favorites and am sharing them with you! Ready to see? (post includes affiliate links; full disclosure statement available {here})
1. Breakfast Sandwich Maker
I bought {this breakfast sandwich maker} for Jeff about two years ago because he’s always been a breakfast sandwich fanatic. It was a HUGE hit and something he’s used several times a week ever since. Our go-to is pretty simple – an English muffin with egg, sprinkled cheddar cheese, and sometimes bacon or sausage. It’s a breeze to clean and I love that it’s super small for easy storage.
I also recently bought {this mini maker} for my daughter to use in her apartment – it’s a highly rated mini griddle that’s perfect for single-serving eggs and pancakes.
2. Food Huggers
This is my latest kitchen obsession – {these reusable food huggers} that come as a set of five huggers. They’re made for keeping cut fruit and veggies fresh without needing plastic wrap or a larger food storage container that takes up space in the fridge. We use them mostly for lemons, limes, apples, onions, and bananas:
And the largest size fits perfectly around our drinking glasses to create a food storage container when all of ours are being used or in the dishwasher.
3. Hedgehog Measuring Cups
Those of you who have followed my blog for a while know that I am a little over the top about my animal decor (I just can’t pass up a good brass pig – lol!) and that trend follows me into the kitchen too. I’ve had {these darling measuring cups} for a few years now and love them – they simply make cooking a little more fun:
They nest within each other for easy storage and are adorable enough to have on display in glass cabinets or open shelving.
The glass canisters behind them are available on Amazon too – I have {this set of two 1-gallon jars} for sugar and flour and one of {these half gallon jar} for cookies.
4. Microfiber Swiffer-esque Mop
While it’s not exactly a kitchen tool, I couldn’t do a post on favorite Amazon finds for our kitchen without talking about the microfiber mop that I love for cleaning our kitchen floors. It’s similar to a Swiffer except the head is bigger, it swivels better, the microfiber cleaning cloths can be washed and reused, and it has a handle extension piece to make it long enough to reach high spots (like cobwebs in our kitchen skylight). We have a built-in vacuum in our kitchen island and I just glide this mop around my kitchen floor and push it over to our island vacuum where it sucks it right in:
My exact mop (you can find it {here}) is currently out of stock (except for used options) but {this super similar mop} has almost identical specs and equally glowing reviews. You can also find the long soft brass appliance pulls on our kitchen island on Amazon {here} and the same pulls in shorter lengths that I have on our other cabinets {here}.
5. Clip-On Strainer
You might have heard me talk about {this clip-on strainer} before because I’ve had it for years and love it. It clips onto the side of pots and pans for easy straining of water from pasta and grease from hamburger meat:
It fits all of my pots and pans from big to small and it’s dishwasher friendly (and takes up a lot less space than a colander). If I could only keep a single kitchen gadget, it would be this one! It makes a great stocking stuffer too!
6. Odor Absorber Bar
I cook with a lot of onions and love them in my food but don’t love the residual stink they leave on my hands. I’ve been using {this stainless steel odor absorber bar} for years – you rub it on your hands like you would a bar of soap and it works so well to remove that onion smell!
The comments on the Amazon listing are pretty entertaining to see all of the smelly stuff that others have had luck using it on too 😳.
7. Guac-Lock
We are guacamole fanatics in our house and eat it with chips or on Mexican food or burgers almost weekly. It’s always such a bummer to make or buy guacamole and grab it from the fridge the next day to eat more of it and find it all brown and gross. This guac-lock found {here} is a smart little gadget that presses all the air out and keeps it fresh for days:
I’ve tried other tricks to keep it from browning like adding the avocado pit to it, sealing the top with plastic wrap, and sprinkling on lemon juice but the guac-lock is the best way to keep guac fresh of all the ways I’ve tried. I wish they would make a mini version too because my only issue with our guac lock is that if you have just a small amount of guac left, it’s not enough to fill the guac lock up.
8. Recipe/Storage Tin
I adore Rifle Paper Co.’s products and have {this recipe tin} in the citrus floral pattern sitting on our open corner shelving:
Obviously you can use it to hold recipe cards if you have those but you can also use it as stylish storage! Ours is filled with our corn cob holders, nut/seafood crackers, and cooking twine – they’re all things that we don’t use daily but they’re easy to grab from our tin when needed:
Also check out Jot & Mark recipe tins {here} – they have a similar look at a lower price!
9. Can Organizer
I love having an organized pantry and have a whole post on the organizational features I added to ours {here}. Of all of my pantry organizers, one of my favorites is our can rack organizer found {here}:
It holds a ton of cans in a small amount of space and makes them super easy to access. Along with canned food it can be used for soda cans too!
10 & 11. Ice Cream Maker & Scoop
Have you ever tried making your own ice cream? It’s fun and so much easier than you’d think! We have {this ice cream maker} which makes the yummiest stuff without having to mess around with ice and salt. You simply add your ice cream ingredients to the bowl (which you freeze first), turn it on to mix for about 20 minute, throw it back in the freezer for a bit and it’s done. It comes with several recipes to get you started (mint chocolate chip is a family fave) but I love experimenting with new combinations of add-ins too:
I also highly recommend {this ice cream scoop} – don’t ask my why it works so well because it’s pretty basic but I got it after seeing the thousands of rave reviews and it’s definitely the best one we’ve had, especially when you’re trying to scoop ice cream that’s rock hard. It comes in several color options including the mint color we have:
And it’s dishwasher safe which is a bonus.
12. Herb Scissors
Whether it’s cutting green onion for a stir fry dish, cilantro for guacamole, or parsley for a chicken dish, {these herb scissors} make cutting herbs a breeze:
I love that they come with a cover for safe storage in your kitchen drawers as well as a little comb to get out any herbs that get stuck in them.
13. Pizza Cutter
14. Water Bottle Cleaning Set
Our new dishwasher has a bottle jet feature that I love because I can throw our shorter water bottles in with the dishes for cleaning but I still have to hand wash the tall ones and the straws. {This water bottle cleaning set} is a must-have for doing it! It’s a set of three cleaning tools that includes a long handled brush that gets to the bottom of even the tallest water bottles:
but it’s the two other tools that make it stand out! It has a long skinny brush for getting inside of water bottle straws:
and a short curved brush for thoroughly cleaning the tops. They come with a snap-on ring that you can use to hang them for storage but I keep mine in {this can organizer} with my other brushes and my extra sponges and dish towels stored on top:
15. Magnetic Measuring Spoons
Let’s wrap up my faves with one that seems like it would be really boring but you gotta trust me on this one – {these magnetic measuring spoons} (if they’re out of stock, {these spoons} look identical) are awesome! I hate keeping measuring spoons on the ring but I also hate how they scatter in my drawer when they’re not attached to each other. Having magnetic spoons that stick together neatly in my drawer when I’m not using them but also separately neatly from one another when I need one is the best:
And there’s a spoon on each end so basically you get two sets of spoons in one.
Thanks so much for sharing all these great finds!
Loved this and pinned several of them for me and for gifts – thanks! Could I ask where you buy most of your dish towels? I like the ones in your stack 🙂
There are some things on here I’ve been eyeing; thanks for your thoughts. I’d love to know about your wooden drawer organizer.
I love all of these finds! Thank you so much.
While I like your recommendations, I particularly love the measuring spoons! I share your dislike of linked measuring spoons, and the challenges that come when they are unlinked. What a great solution! And I found that the same company makes a COLOR-CODED version — perfect for my special needs son (and me, now that my eyes are getting older every day). I am ordering some today.
This was great. Thanks so much for all your hard work:)
Oh, how I’ve missed these lists. I always find several items I “need”. I’ve emailed you why I’ve been absent, but I’m back on the list and I should get your post alerts going forward.
xo,
Karen
