Our Fall Home Decor!

We’ve been having the most beautiful fall-like weather for several weeks now and it’s motivated me to make some changes to our home for the season. I always start with decorating our front porch since the first freeze comes early here (and I want to enjoy my pumpkins and mums for as long as I can!). Today I’m sharing some pics of our newly decorated fall front porch along with some fall decor pieces I’ve added to the inside of our home as a start to my fall decorating. Ready to come on over and see? (post includes affiliate links; full disclosure statement available {here})

I’m all about mums and pumpkins when it comes to decorating our front porch! This year I also mixed in some crotons (from Home Depot) and some Baby Boo pumpkin filled lanterns:

All the details on our fall front porch decor including the pumpkins in our black lanterns, mums, beautiful fall wreath, and more!

I reused the beautiful fall wreath that I got last season because it’s still in perfect shape:

Love this fall wreath for my front door with pumpkins, pinecones, & hydrangeas

It’s still available from my original source {here} in just a slightly tweaked but equally pretty design. I also reused {this cute patterned doormat} I’ve had for a while now but is also still in great shape.

My planters are all from past years too including {these cast stone urn planters} holding my crotons (they are HEAVY – great if you want planters that will never blow over, not so great when you want to move them 🙂 ),

{these much lighter weight urn planters} holding my large orange mums,

and {these cute planters} in rock grey (the planters come in a pair – I have two pairs and just used the larger of the two sizes here):

Mums in various planters are part of our fall front porch decor!

I also filled the smaller two of {this trio of lanterns} with Baby Boo pumpkins to add to the mix! This is the 5th year I’ve used these lanterns outside (I keep them out throughout the winter) and they’ve held up remarkably well during four brutal winters but are finally starting to rust on the bottom so I think this season is their last hurrah…

My favorite part of our fall front porch decor is the lanterns filled with pumpkins

Come on inside now and I’ll give you a peek at the start to my fall decorating including some fall decor pieces I added to my kitchen:

Fall decor in our kitchen including faux florals and white pumpkins!

The most obvious addition is {this new plaid rug (3 x 5)} in front of our kitchen sink – it’s not really a fall-only piece (I plan to keep it year-round) but the plaid definitely adds a bit of a fall vibe:

Gorgeous plaid rug for in front of our kitchen sink!

It’s an indoor/outdoor rug and totally reversible so seemed like a great fit for this messy spot! If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly plaid rug, I think {this black & white rug} is really cute.

Over by our range, I added some faux florals in the prettiest fall hues to {this striped gray planter}. I think this is my favorite faux arrangement I’ve ever created:

The prettiest combination of fall faux flowers!

Here’s the formula to recreate it: 3 of {these English cabbage roses in mauve pink}, 3 of {these soft pink hydrangea}, 2 of {these fuchsia peonies}, and 2 stems of {this seeded eucalyptus} that are all c/o Afloral. I wish I had ordered more of the fuchsia peonies for the arrangements I added in other rooms – they are absolutely gorgeous!

{This round seagrass tray} corralling my planter, marble utensil holder, olive oil, and a few bowls is a new find too. It’s the perfect size for this spot and I love the the woven texture for warming up our space:

This round seagrass tray is the perfect size for corralling utensils by the stove, my oil bottle, and my planter.

On our floating wood shelves, I changed up the flowers in my brass swan friend (an eBay find) to a pretty new fall combo including {this blush peach dahlia}, {this mauve English cabbage rose}, {this pink mauve silk rose}, {this seeded eucalyptus}, and part of one of {these white peony bundles}:

The only other fall decor I added to this space are {this cute patterned planter} for my snake plant along with several white pumpkins. If you don’t have much time or money for fall decorating, sprinkling a bunch of Baby Boo pumpkins throughout your home is a great way to bring on fall vibes on the cheap!

Moving on to our family room, I have lots of new fall goodies!

Our fall home decor in our living room! Fall pillows, faux florals, and other accessories to cozy up the space!

if you follow me on Instagram you might have already seen that I added {this pair of woven baskets} to our space with the smaller basket holding a large fern and the larger one holding extra throws:

The fall decor in our living room includes lots of texture with this gorgeous pair of woven baskets!

I have the worst track record with plants so I’m pretty proud to say that it’s been a month since I got my fern and he’s still going strong – woo hoo!:

This pair of woven baskets is perfect fall decor for our family room!

The thing that’s changed since the last time I took a pic of my baskets is the pillows! They include {this textured neutral stripe pillow cover} that is absolutely gorgeous (mine is 22″):

Love this fall pillow with neutral stripes!

and this lovely trio too! The center pillow is {this large indoor/outdoor tasseled pillow} I’ve had for several years now – for fall I’ve paired it with {this darling neutral dot pillow cover} in 20″ size and {this beautiful textured leopard pillow} (also in 20″ size) which I think is my favorite of the bunch:

The trio of fall pillows on the corner of our sectional - love!

I have it in the 22″ size on the other end of my sectional too – I’ll show you an up close look so you can see better how pretty it is:

Gorgeous leopard pillow cover for fall decor!

I also have a pair of {these blush herringbone flannel pillow covers} – they’re so soft and cozy – love!

Love this trio of fall pillows - blush herringbone (in cozy flannel), cream tassel, and neutral leopard pillows!

They’re all c/o Erin from Porter Lane Home {here} and are beautifully made -they even come with details like a brass zipper and “love your home” leather zipper pull that a details-girl like me really appreciates:

Gorgeous brass zipper and leather zipper pull!

I added a few fall touches to our coffee table too including {this simple strand of tasseled wood beads} which is the perfect inexpensive and versatile fall decor piece:

Strand of wood beads with tassels as the perfect fall decor for your coffee table!

And I have an arrangement of faux florals in {this basket planter} – it actually comes with a thick plastic liner inside so you could put an actual plant in it too! The combination of fauxs in this planter are: 2 of {these pink mauve silk roses}, 2 of {these dusty pink mums}, 1 of {these pink blush peonies}, 2 of {these blush peach dahlias}, 2 of {these beige hydrangeas}, 1 {silk cabbage rose in mauve pink}, and 3 sprigs of {this seeded eucalyptus}:

Faux flowers for fall decor in our living room!

And lastly, I added a few simple fall pieces to the open shelves in our family room – my favorites are {these inexpensive woven pumpkins}:

Cute woven pumpkins make the perfect fall decor for shelves and bookcases!

and {this Grecian bust planter} (large size) that’s a new year-round addition – love her!

Faux fall flowers in the prettiest bust planter!

Here’s the simple formula to recreate her simple flower arrangement: 1 faux hydrangea stem (my exact one is no longer available but {this hydrangea} is very similar), 2 stems from {this faux peony bundle} in white, 1 pink blush peony. The small filler berry bundles are no longer available.

I’ve got a little more fall decorating to do (including finishing up our family room and decorating my mantel) but that will wrap up this season’s decorating for me! Around this time I’m usually thinking that I can’t believe the holidays are almost here but this year I CAN believe it because 2020 has been the slowest going year ever… I usually wait until after Thanksgiving to get decorating for Christmas but for some reason I’m feeling the itch to do things a little earlier this year. Maybe it’s because of all the time we’re spending at home? Are you guys feeling the same?

    Kris,
I’ve been ready for autumn since September 1st. Southern California weather didn’t cooperate but today is much cooler and the fall decor will begin. It’s my favorite season in so many ways. I love the suggestions, especially those pillows. I’ve favorited her shop and know I’ll buy something soon.
    Happy Austumn.

Your front porch looks gorgeous Kris! What caught my eye is the color of your house. In the picture it looks grey. Do you mind sharing the color? Thanks!

kris: your arrangements are really beautiful. Casual, but lush as well. I had not really thought about using these mauve colors for fall, but I really love them. Tired of the typical orange and red business. Thank you for the link to the flower vendor. Lady, you make me laugh with all of the pillow covers. I love your selections and am a fan of decor pillows myself. Just for kicks and giggles (and because I’m nosy), how many Covers do you think you have? I counted mine. I counted 18 in the whole house. At what point do I say, “I think I have a pillow problem”?

Julie I was CRACKING UP at your post because wow do I ever have WAY more than 18! I’m too scared to count I think – lol! I think 18 is far from a pillow problem but I have to say that to make myself feel better about mine – ha!

Ooh, you may have to pull out your stellar pillow cover organizing system and snap a pic with ALL the pillows laid out. It will be like Christmas😄

Kris, your front porch is gorgeous! I really appreciate how you have re-used things that you have had for a while. I feel like so many bloggers only show brand new things that they purchased just for the season.

I also love the small touches of fall and florals throughout your home! Everything is gorgeous!

Everything looks beautiful! I have the worst luck with mums, they look great when the bloom but then even if I deadhead them they look terrible! Love all of your subtle Fall ideas.
