You all know I LOVE to organize! So after our kitchen remodel, I took advantage of having a fresh start to organize our kitchen from top to bottom. Now everything has a home, nothing gets buried in the back, and the inside of my cabinets and drawers is pretty easy on the eyes too!
I’ve got a lot of organizing ideas to share, so today we’re going to tackle kitchen drawer organization ideas, and then I’ll share the rest of my kitchen organization ideas in a future post. I hope today’s kitchen drawer organizer ideas will help you declutter your space and maximize storage while keeping everything in easy reach! Let’s get to it, starting with the drawers next to our fridge… (post includes commissionable links; for more information, see my full disclosure statement {here})

Create a Custom Look with A Sleek Silverware Organizer
Silverware organization isn’t the most exciting place to start, but this one simple organizer did an amazing job of making my plain drawer look like it was custom-built for holding silverware:

I used {this Rev-A-Shelf trim-to-fit silverware drawer organizer} that comes in four size options. Simply choose the closest size that’s slightly larger than your drawer, then trim it down for a perfect fit. It makes use of every inch of drawer space, keeping our silverware neat and easy to grab. I also had enough space to store my nested magnetic measuring spoons, kitchen shears, corkscrews, steak knives, and wood toaster tongs.
For a similar look at a more budget-friendly price, check out {this expandable bamboo organizer} or {this one} that works beautifully in my sister’s kitchen:

Maximize Kitchen Towel Storage with Smart Drawer Organizers
With our towel drawer being less than three inches deep, it originally couldn’t fit all of my folded kitchen towels – it was too full to close. I searched for an organizing solution and found {this bamboo towel organizer} with adjustable dividers that’s the perfect size for holding rolled kitchen towels.
Using two of these organizers side by side, not only did my drawer fit all of the towels I wanted to store, but I had room for a few more too. I was even able to take advantage of the small extra bit of space on the right side of the drawer for storing a few dishcloths:

I keep a lot of kitchen towels on hand because I use a new one each day and like to wait until I have about two weeks’ worth of towels to wash them. My kitchen towels include {these blue Turkish hand towels} in denim and light blue, one of {these light blue and white striped towels}, one of {these blue, pink, and yellow hand towels, and {this floral patterned towel}, {this lemon towel}, and {this black and white striped towel}.
You might notice that I chose bamboo instead of plastic for any new organizers that I bought for our kitchen. While more expensive than plastic, bamboo is biodegradable and a renewable resource, plus it looks much higher-end too!
Eliminate Drawer Jams by Ditching Bulky Baggie and Roll Boxes
The next drawer down is storage for our baggies and wrap, paper, and foil rolls. I used to keep baggies and wraps in their store-bought boxes, but the bulky box tops always got caught and kept the drawer from closing. Keeping them in bamboo organizers was an easy solution for the problem, and they look so nice too!
Our baggies are stored in {these storage bag organizers} that come in a set of five (they’re currently sold out, but {these} are similar). Since we only keep two sizes of baggies, I used the other three for our chip clips, dishwasher cleaning tabs, and garbage disposal cleaning tabs:

Our wrap, paper, and foil rolls are stored on the other side in two of {these 2-slot wrap organizers with built-in cutters} that come with clear stickers for labeling. They’re so easy to use – you just roll out the amount of wrap/foil you need and run the cutter across it without ever having to take the organizer out of the drawer:

My organizers are designed for holding 12″ rolls but they also come in a longer version {here} if you want to store 15″ rolls.
Upgrade Your Catch-All Drawer with Bamboo Boxes
If you have a drawer or two like this one with a little bit of everything, bamboo organizers like {these} (I used one set of 3 + one set of 5) are great for whipping it into shape:

It’s a bit of a puzzle to play around with various-sized boxes and find an arrangement that maximizes your storage space. My catch-all drawer holds extra silverware, my nested magnetic measuring cups, food huggers, plug-in fruit fly traps, corn cob holders, garlic chopper, wine stoppers, cupcake liners, jar opener, can opener, cooking twine, cheese markers, and cutting board wax.
Fold & Roll Your Drying Mats
Let’s move on to the small drawer to the left of our range:

It’s the perfect size to hold my roll-up racks and folded drying mat:

On the left is {this roll-up sink rack/trivet} that can be rolled out across the sink as a drying rack or used as a hot plate/trivet (which is what I most frequently use it for):

In the middle is {this quick-dry stone drying mat} that folds out on our countertop to provide a nice amount of space for drying our dishes.

It looks so much nicer for dish drying than a towel, dries dishes faster (the stone quickly absorbs any water that drips off), and folds in thirds for easy storage. It’s a pricey sucker but does go on sale occasionally (I’ll share the next time I see the price drop!).
On the right-hand side of the drawer is {this corner drying rack} that’s perfect for air-drying sponges and dishcloths:

Divide & Conquer with Expandable Dividers
The last drawer on the perimeter of our kitchen holds knives, utensils, and oven mitts:

The secret to keeping this drawer neat and organized (and what works beautifully for lots of other drawers too) is {these expandable bamboo drawer dividers}:

They create what look like custom dividers within drawers that keep everything neatly in place:

The three dividers in this drawer create four sections holding (1) {this in-drawer knife holder} which is a great clutter-free alternative to storing knives in a block on the countertop (also check out {this option}); (2) my mini cutting boards and {this cheese board deck} that’s a great no-brainer way for creating pretty charcuterie boards; (3) my oven mitts, electric can opener, and marble wine bottle holder; and (4) my long utensils (my shorter ones are stored in a pull-out by our range that I’ll be sharing in my next kitchen organization post).
Quick tip: Place the spring-loaded end of drawer dividers toward the rear of the drawer so the expanded end isn’t as visible, making it look like you have custom dividers!
Now let’s head to our kitchen island, which is full of drawers, and take a peek into a few of those:

Streamline Your Food Storage Containers With Separated Storage
Our food storage containers are organized pretty simply – with the bowls and lids stored separately:

I lined this drawer and the other drawers in our island with {this cut-to-fit clear ribbed drawer liner} so the glass bowls don’t shift in the drawer as it’s opened and closed:

My food storage container lids and our reusable storage bags are stored in {this expandable lid organizer} (also check out {this bamboo lid organizer}, which is what I would have chosen if I didn’t already own the plastic version). Jeff is our household’s dishwasher unloader, so trust me that this is the first and only time our lids will be in perfect Sleeping-with-the-Enemy color order 😂.
Tame Water Bottle Clutter With Tall Dividers
Most water bottle organizers are designed for keeping water bottles stored on their sides in cabinets, so I needed to create my own solution for drawer storage. I used {these deep drawer dividers} to create rows that keep our water bottles lined up and prevent them from tipping over. Then I have the lids stored separately in one of {these stackable divided bamboo organizers} and the straws in one of {these stackable narrow organizers}.

I used the room I had left in the drawer to store some small ceramic loaf pans and our electric hand mixer. I added one of {these stick-on cord organizers} to our mixer as a simple way to neatly corral the cord:

Now, let’s wrap things up by heading over to our kitchen coffee bar to peek into a few last drawers:

Set Up a Grab-And-Go Drawer for Out-the-Door Essentials
Our top left coffee bar drawer (which my contractor shortened because of the air return duct in the wall behind it) is our grab-and-go drawer where we keep our keys in {this woven valet tray} along with dog treats, chargers, and other things we commonly grab as we head out our side door that’s around the corner:

Create a Coffee Station Drawer
My favorite drawer in our entire kitchen is this one that houses all of my coffee needs for our Nespresso coffee maker:

{This pod storage tray} neatly holds our Nespresso Vertuo pods – the slots fit them perfectly! To the right, {this bamboo spring-loaded divider} locks the tray snugly in place. I also added a few organizers from {this bamboo drawer set} to store spoons, straws, {these coffee machine cleaning tablets}, and a couple of {these glass spice jars} filled with cinnamon and ground cloves – my favorite coffee add-ins.
Keep Desk Supplies in Check with Adjustable Dividers
Before renovating our kitchen, we had a built-in desk where our coffee bar is now. I got used to having our desk supplies in the kitchen, so I dedicated two drawers in our coffee bar to them. For our shallow drawer of supplies, I used {this expandable bamboo organizer with adjustable dividers} that allows you to customize the size of the openings to the items that you want to store:

I used the option that came with 6 of the front-to-back expandable dividers (I only used 5 of them), but you can also get it with 4, 7, or 10 dividers {here}. I also added {this long, skinny decorative box} to hold miscellaneous smaller items.
That wraps up my kitchen drawer organization ideas! I’ll be sharing a peek at the organizers behind several of our kitchen cabinet doors in an upcoming post, so stay tuned for that!
