Looking for the best faux flowers? I’m sharing my tried & true favorites!
While I love fresh flowers, realistically there’s no way I can keep them throughout our home year-round. So when I’m without fresh flowers, I love having some great faux flowers to throw into the mix!
Artificial flowers can be really hit or miss. Some are obvious fakes, others look good from a distance but not so great close up, and then there are a few gems that look so much like the real thing that you’ve got to touch them to know for sure.
Today I’m sharing the best faux flowers I’ve found, the ones that pass the “fake test” with flying colors! (post includes commissionable links; for more information, see my full disclosure statement {here})
Faux Flowers I Have and Love
While great looking artificial flowers don’t have to cost a fortune, don’t expect to find realistic ones at the Dollar Store :). The materials that they’re made with definitely make a difference. The best online shop that I’ve found for both quality and selection of artificial flowers is Afloral which you can shop {here}. I’ve never been disappointed with any flowers I’ve ordered from them!
One example is this beautiful bouquet of faux flowers from Afloral including English cabbage roses, blush hydrangeas, seeded eucalyptus, and fuschsia peonies:

Other sources: Round woven tray | Gray striped planter | Marble wine cooler (used as a utensil holder)
They added so much life to our kitchen (see our kitchen remodel “before” and “after” for kitchen details):

This arrangement of artificial flowers is also one I made using flowers from Afloral:

They’re perfect for adding color & style to our coffee table (see my post on coffee table decor ideas if you’re looking for more tips on dressing yours up)!
Believe it or not, I’ve also found some great artificial flowers on Amazon! Some of my favorites are these artificial tulips I use as part of my spring decor in our dining room. They are SO realistic!

Sources: Wood bead chandelier | 13″ Rattan chargers (similar) | Green & white plaid napkins | Table runner (similar)
The exact tulips I used are {these pink tulips} and {these white tulips} (between the two vases I have 30 pink (1 pack) and 40 white (2 packs) of tulips). The wood vases are old Target finds that are unfortunately no longer available but {these vases} are similar.
Amazon is also where I found {these faux white orchids} that I had in clear glass vases on our fireplace mantel in our previous home:

Room sources: Wood tripod lamp | 30″ Round wood mirror | White vase | Slipcovered swivel chairs (similar)
I needed a LOT of branches to fill the two sizable glass vases and was looking at spending hundreds of dollars with most other fauxs before I found these. I ended up using ten stems in each vase. They’re not quite as full as other more expensive fauxs and you can tell that they’re artificial when you get super close up but I still think they’re a good buy for the price.
Also from Amazon, in the corner of our living room I had {this set of five faux greenery branches} in a large bamboo vase (you can also buy them in a pair {here}). They were sitting on the round end table that I refinished a few years back (see my post on how to refinish a table for more details). They’re great fauxs if you are looking for some large willowy, leafy branches like I was!

I’ve also used them in the kitchen of our current house before our remodel:

I also swear by {these faux cherry blossom branches} that I’ve used in so many places, including in a basket on top of the armoire in our previous home,

in a large vase in the guest room of our current home,

Sources: Dresser | Dresser knobs | Blue and white lamp | White marble links | Art print
and in our dining room. They’re super full and gorgeous and the blossoms look so realistic!

Just know that the bottom of the stems looks kinda fake so I wouldn’t use them in a clear glass vase. A basket or ceramic vase is perfect!
And the last of my artificial flower finds from Amazon is {this cute 4-piece bundle of lavender}. They’re a great smaller size for a nightstand or desk area:

Another store with great artificial flowers is Pottery Barn. My recent favorite fauxs from Pottery Barn are {these faux branches} that are the prettiest blush color:

Room sources: Blue and white rug | Upholstered castered chairs (similar) | Woven door console | Blue gourd lamp | Canvas artwork
They’re described as fall leaves but I have them in our dining room year-round.
Once you’ve picked your faux flowers, it’s important to do a good job fluffing and arranging them to make them look realistic.
Tips For Arranging Artificial Flowers
1. Always separate out the branches of your artificial flowers to “fluff” them up. It makes such a difference! While they’re not exactly flowers, I can show you the difference that fluffing made with {these lemon branches} (the “lemon – M” option) on our kitchen island. This is what they looked like out of the box when they first arrived…

Yikes! These babies needed a little love but about two minutes of fluffing and they were good to go!

They’re so bright and cheery for spring and summer!

2. If you struggle with creating your own flower arrangements, check out {this lookbook} on Afloral where you can shop the look! If you find an arrangement that you like, they should you exactly which flowers were used to create it.

3. Consider cutting off or bending your artificial flower stems to get the height you need. Most artificial flowers come with super long stems. When I’m putting them in an opaque vase, I simply bend them at the bottom to get the height that I want. But if you’re putting artificial flowers in a glass vase, you’ll see the bent stems so will want to cut them. A wire cutter is the best tool for getting this done.
A good rule of thumb when you have tall branches is to cut or bend them so that the bottom leaves or flowers are about 1-2″ above the top of the vase. Stagger the heights that you cut the flower stems in your bouquet for the most realistic look!
Faux Plants & Wreaths
Along with artificial flowers, consider faux plants and wreaths too. The corner of our family room in our previous home had one of my all-time favorite fauxs. It’s {this 7′ faux fiddle leaf fig tree} in {this woven basket}:

Sources: TV console (similar) | Chandelier (satin bronze) | Green & blue block print pillow cover | Rug | Acrylic coffee table (similar) | Coffee table tray (28″ square) | Rattan chair
I looked at lots of faux fiddle leaf figs before choosing this one (see my post on the best faux fiddle leaf fig trees). The trunk of it looks a bit fake up close which was the case with all of the faux fiddles I saw but the leaves look super realistic!

As with most fauxs, when they arrived they were extremely smooshed! So just like with the flowers, be sure to take some time to separate all of the branches in different directions and fluff them out!
There are tons of gorgeous faux wreaths out there too. This is one area where I feel like you get what you pay for. Every inexpensive faux wreath I’ve ordered has looked cheap because the materials to make good ones are on the pricey side. See my post on favorite spring wreaths for your front door for lots of great options including {this 24″ lemon wreath} that’s made with artificial flowers, greenery, and lemons:

It’s so pretty and I love that it comes with the cute striped ribbon bow! You can find it in other sizes {here}. Also check out my favorite fall wreaths for your front door.
I hope you guys found an idea or two for bringing some color into your home with faux florals! Thanks as always for taking the time to stop by the blog!
