I’ve been buying from Etsy for about ten years now and with every year I use it more and more to find unique home decor pieces that I love! I’m sure most of you are already familiar with Etsy but if you’re not, it’s an online site with individual “shops” (including a lot of small home-based start-ups) with unique handmade and vintage items. I do most of my home decor shopping online and being able to have the convenience of online ordering while also supporting a small business is huge.
There’s a challenge to shopping on Etsy though – there are over 60 million products so if you search something like “pillows” you have to wade through thousands of them to find pillows that are your style. Since you and I probably have pretty similar taste, I thought it might be helpful to share my favorite Etsy home decor pieces and shops with you today, starting with pillows… (post includes affiliate links; full disclosure statement available {here})
Etsy Pillow Covers & Window Shades
I love buying pillow covers from Etsy because not only is there a huge selection but you can message the seller if you need a specific size not listed and often they’ll make it for you! Some of my favorite Etsy shops for pillows are Laurel & Blush which is where {this antelope tassel pillow cover} and {this gray velvet textured pillow cover} are from (white textured pillow is from {here}):
I also love Pillow Time Girls which is where {this gray & white dragon/floral print pillow cover} is from and Arianna Belle (her shop is great if you love higher end fabrics) which is where {this confetti dot pillow cover} in the middle is from:
Other Etsy shops I’ve found great pillows at are:
Chloe & Olive | Pillow Flight | Lynn Chalk | Willa Skye | Stuck on Hue | Motif Pillows
I’ve also had luck with Roman shades on Etsy – Windows by Melissa made me {these Roman shades with navy ribbon trim} for our bonus room (she made them to the exact measurements of my window) and they’ve worked beautifully:
My white leather poufs are actually from Etsy too – they’re from SouSou Design {here} and were a fraction of the price of the look-alikes from Serena & Lily. And the fabulous sputnik ceiling light fixture that you can see just a peek of in this pic was found {here} on Etsy .
Etsy Seasonal Decor
Handmade wreaths are one of my favorite things to buy on Etsy and I’ve had several over the years that have been gorgeous additions to our front door. Last fall I used {this stunning wreath} with peonies, pinecones, and pumpkins created by Latawnie of Style the Seasons and I’m pretty sure that everyone who walked through my front door complemented it:
A few years back I used {this hydrangea wreath} for fall and it was a beauty too! For spring & summer, I love {this wreath with lemons} created by Tonya of Two Inspire You:
I’m also crazy about {this wreath} she recently created with faux oranges – so stunning! I could do an entire post just on Etsy wreaths but I’ll leave it with just these few other faves:
Etsy is also a great site to shop for handmade ornaments – I just ordered {this handmade gingerbread man ornament} that couldn’t be more perfect to commemorate the crazy year that 2020 has been:
I’ve found a lot of great seasonal ribbon on Etsy too – {this shop} is great for wide ribbon and {this shop} has beautiful velvet ribbon.
Etsy Art
There are so many talented artists selling prints on Etsy! One of my favorites is Maren Devine – I love everything that she creates, including {this gorgeous floral print} that I bought for our bathroom:
You can see all of her prints {here} – others I especially love are {this egret print} and {this beach print}. And these are prints from some other Etsy artists that I’ve saved as favorites:
I also recently bought the cutest mini wood clipboard for displaying a small art print or photo – it’s {this darling painted wood & brass clipboard} created by Tanalee of The Heart Department Co.:
It has a wood stand in the back so you can use it to display a photo or small art print like you would a frame (or even to clip recipes in the kitchen) but it’s so much easier to swap photos in and out. This photo is one of my long-time favorites of one of my daughters when she was little 🙂
Etsy Finds for Your Bathroom
Now that we have a nice freestanding soaker tub in our bathroom, we’re using a lot of bath bombs and it’s crazy how expensive they can be! I found {these organic bath bombs} from The Bath Bomb Factory that are a great price when you buy them in bulk. They also have tons of colorful bath bomb options if that’s more your thing. I have a bunch of our bath bombs stored in our bathroom vanity and also a few in {this glass canister} on our bathroom shelves:
Shelf sources (from top to bottom): White woven basket (medium) | Kumquat tree | Round basket for kumquat tree (small) | Gray & white striped planter (holding plant) | Colorful moth art print | White wood frame | Pair of decorative stacked boxes | Glass canister (1 gallon size) | Bath bombs | Belly basket with tassel | Favorite bath towels
The basket on the bottom shelf is an Etsy find too – I found it {here} and use it to hold our washcloths:
The same Etsy shop has a similar basket with pom poms that’s super cute {here} and pretty woven wallhangings and other baskets that you can check out {here}. And if you missed my post on my floating wood shelves, those are from Etsy too! You can find my floating wood shelves {here} and get all the details on how I installed them, different wood finish options, and more in {this post}.
I also found {these shampoo & conditioner pumps} on Etsy (mine are the 16 oz white/gold) at The Polished Jar (mine are glass but she also sells a plastic bottle option {here}) – they totally elevate the look of our new bathroom:
I also bought {these hand and dish soap pumps} too for next to our kitchen sink (mine are the 16 oz clear/stainless):
Two Last Etsy Finds!
There are so many other great finds on Etsy to share but I’ll wrap things up with two last finds. First off, definitely check out Beehive Handmade’s shop {here} – they’re a husband and wife team that have the most gorgeous pieces from heirloom baby cups to measuring spoons and {this darling coffee scoop} that I bought years ago (the scoop part is a heart!):
The chalkboard print you can see a peek of behind it is from Etsy too {here}. Also related to coffee, when Jeff’s at home he has a coffee cup in his hand at least half of the day so when I saw {this soft arm “table”} that turns your sofa arm into mini drink table, I knew it would make the perfect little gift for him:
It actually works really well and looks nice too! The slot in the front is for propping an iPhone but it’s pretty slim – my iPhone fits in it but Jeff’s is a little too big. One heads up – it’s handmade in Latvia so takes several weeks to receive so if you’re thinking of it for a gift, order ahead!
That wraps up my Etsy finds for today’s post but I just started a brand new Instagram account called “Etsy Edited” that you can follow {here} where I’ll be posting my newest Etsy finds as I find them – I’d love for you to follow! And if you’re a fan of the LIKEtoKNOW.it app, you can find Etsy Edited on the app {here} (and if you don’t already follow my main account on the app, you can find Driven by Decor {here}).
And one last thing – if you have a favorite Etsy shop or Etsy find, I’d love to some new ones so leave me a comment with your faves!
TaylorCraftsEngraved
Has beautiful, high quality wood boards (cheese, charcuterie, cutting) that can be monogrammed or personalized. Choices of woods and fonts. Good prices.
I get these frequently for wedding shower gifts and they are always well received.
Thank you! Just took a look around their site – so many beautiful things!
Kris-
Thank you so much for your decorating ideas. I am in the process of finishing up a complete reno on my father’s place in Steamboat Springs & often order things from your finds..
Best
Colleen M. Smith
I’m so glad you enjoyed the post Colleen! Good luck wrapping up your reno!
Thank you for celebrating Etsy artists and small businesses!
Kris, Where did you find the container you use to hold your coffee filters?
Thanks, AS
I found it many years ago at Ballard Design – I’m pretty sure they no longer carry it unfortunately.
Love your blue bonus room! Would you mind sharing where you purchased that blue floral quilt that’s on the daybed?
Sure – it’s a Vera Bradley quilt but unfortunately it’s been discontinued.
Just purchased the white leather moroccan pouf from Etsy – visited Morocco last year and this was one thing I regretted not purchasing! Considering free shipping and it sounds like it comes stuffed, the price is close to the price quoted to us in the souks. Christmas present for daughter- thanks for posting!
Hope you enjoy it! We’ve loved ours!
Kris: I’m loving all of the glorious updates in your home. Thank you for the many links to some really great sites. Especially Etsy! I use Etsy a great deal for Semi-custom work on pillows and art. You are right in that it can be like hunting a needle in a haystack because it’s such a large site. I appreciate recommendations to help narrow the pool. Here’s a few of my favorite Etsy vendors that have produced top- notch products. RainyDayDivineLLC for outdoor pillows. Staggering fabric selection, high quality craftsmanship. TheOrangePress for printable art and poster graphics. You can download and print or have them print. Gorgeous heavy-weight chinoiserie art. SpottedOctopusShop also for gorgeous custom-colored heavy-weight art prints. Many sea life and botanicals. So happy to support these small businesses.
Thank you so much for sharing – I’m going to check all of these out!
Hi Kris—I have a few questions regarding the glass containers you purchased from the polished jar. Are you concerned using glass jars in the shower area with the possibility of them falling and cracking the tiles, along with the containers themselves? I’m leaning toward the plastic for that reason. Are the containers you show near your kitchen sink area glass or plastic? It doesn’t show she has a brushed stainless or brushed nickel pump. Are your pumps shiny stainless and what finish is your faucet next to it? Also do you have a link to the grey and white stripe tray the kitchen pumps are sitting on? Thanks. Always love your blog posts.
Hi Rose – I’m really not worried about the shower pumps being glass because it’s just Jeff and I using them and marble is pretty indestructible – if they fell it would be a mess with glass everywhere but it wouldn’t hurt my tile. If they were in my kids’ bathroom I’d definitely do differently! That same shop does also sell plastic bottle options so if it worries you, I’d check those out! The ones near my sink are glass too with the stainless tops – our faucets are “vibrant stainless” so a pretty similar finish. As for the tray, it’s from McGee & Co. but unfortunately they no longer carry it. Hope that helps!
