Looking for a new fall doormat? I’ve done all of the searching for you and am sharing my favorites!
Fall is on its way and I’m ready for it! With Cricket’s recent heart troubles, she can’t be out in this crazy heat very long. And since she lives for her walks, she’s one antsy girl! So I’m ready to bring on longer dog walks, sweaters and slacks, and the less crowded beaches that will come with the change of seasons.
I always start my fall decorating with our front porch so today I’m sharing my favorite fall doormats to start bringing some fall vibes to your home! (post includes affiliate links – full disclosure statement available {here})
Fall Doormats with Cute Sayings
I’m a sucker for fall doormats that have cute sayings! For several years I used this “Hey There Pumpkin” doormat for fall and loved it:
And that sweet face – how I miss it! 😢 (this is our previous dog, “Hope”) I bought my doormat {HERE}. You can also find the same saying in a variety of sizes and styles {HERE}.
Another favorite of mine on Etsy is this “Pumpkins, Bonfires, Hoodies, Leaves, & Football” doormat found {HERE}:
If you want a fall doormat with a dash of color, check out this darling “happy fall, y’all” doormat found {HERE}:

Layered Fall Doormats
Layering a doormat over an indoor/outdoor rug is one of my favorite fall decor ideas. I especially love it for front porches that are on the larger side because a standard size doormat can look kind of small and lonely. Here are a few layered combinations for fall that I put together:
Layered Rug Sources: 1. Happy fall y’all doormat + Blk/White check rug | 2. Pumpkins, Bonfires, & Hoodies doormat + Gray cross rug | 4. Hey boo doormat + Blk/Wht striped rug
If you want to layer your doormat and rug so that you see just a small rug border around your doormat, a 2′ x 3′ rug is a great size for framing your typical 18″ x 30″ doormat. If you’re using a larger 2′ x 3′ doormat, pairing it with a 30″ x 42″ rug is a great fit.
Another option is to get a larger rug like a 3′ x 5′ or 5′ x 7′ that covers a good bit of your patio space and layer a standard doormat on top of it close to your door. Washable cotton rugs work great for outdoor spaces that are mostly covered but if you’re layering a doormat over a rug in a space that gets wet, a polypropylene rug is your best bet.
Let’s wrap things up with a few favorite fall home decor! From the fall branches to this highly rated olive tree, gorgeous pillow covers, and gold lanterns, these finds would bring a stylish, cozy fall feel to your home:

And one last thing – I know it’s WAY too early to start thinking about Christmas but… this gorgeous trio of bells (10″, 8″, 6″ option) that I use on my door every year is in stock and currently under $30:
They are hands-down my favorite holiday decoration – they have beautiful etchings on them and can be tied around the bottom of your stair post or used as shelf decor if you don’t want to use them with a wreath or swag on your door. They go up in price the closer we get to the end of the year and usually sell out in Oct or Nov so now’s the time to grab them!
I promise you won’t hear more about Christmas from me for a while now 😂. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
