In this post: I’m sharing my ten flush mount lighting favorites including some amazingly inexpensive finds!
There are tons of gorgeous lighting options out there but if you’ve got a house full of low ceilings like mine (most of mine are 7 ½ feet – gotta love older homes!), your lighting choices quickly get narrowed WAY down. And you and I both know that most flush mount lights are pretty heinous. There are some beautiful flush mount lights to be found but it definitely requires some serious searching. Luckily I’ve taken on that task for all of us and today I’m sharing my ten flush mount lighting favorites. Whether you need an inexpensive light for a room remodel on the cheap or have a space where you want to splurge on something high-end, I think you’ll find one that you love! (post includes some affiliate links – full disclosure statement available {here})

The flush mounts I’m sharing are from all different price points so there’s something for every budget. My biggest tip in choosing a flush mount light when you don’t have a lot of money to spend is to go with a clean, simple design. Anything with an elaborate design that’s under $100 is going to look cheap but simple, inexpensive fixtures can be beautiful! My favorite simple but beautiful option is light #one which is {this simple, no-frills brass beauty} that I have in our guest bathroom:
It comes in four different finish options (warm brass, satin nickel, polished nickel, and bronze), gives off lots of light, and is a great price – I actually bought it for a second room in our home I loved it so much!
Light #two is {this simple dome semi flush mount} that’s also priced well and perfect if you love flush mount lighting with classic designs:
Light #three is {this scalloped edge beauty} that we have in our master bedroom – it’s a flush mount lighting favorite! As much as I would have loved to have had statement lighting like a fabulous chandelier, the 7 ½ foot ceilings in our room wouldn’t allow it so I went on the hunt for something that had some personality but still fit with the style of my room and was so happy to find this one!

I actually have an entire post of my favorite bedroom light fixtures that you can check out {here} – in addition to flush mount lighting, I share my favorite bedroom floor lamps, table lamps, fans, pendants, and chandeliers.
Light #four is {this bell shaped flush mount light found {here} – the price is amazing and it’s perfect when you’re looking for flush mount lighting for more transitional or contemporary homes!
Light #five is {this gorgeous one} – I LOVE it and think it might just have to find its way into our home! The way that you see an inner gold ring when you’re looking up from beneath it is fabulous!
Light #six is {this} gold semi flush mount light we have in our home office. I love it and think it looks much more expensive than it is. And as another plus, it takes 3 light bulbs at up to 100 Watts each so it’s great flush mount lighting to have in a room with no other light sources:

It comes in a brass finish as well as a brushed nickel:
Light #seven is {this gorgeous cloverleaf flush mount} – both the design and the finishes are fabulous! I don’t think you could go wrong with it in any space!
Light #eight is {this} fabric shade flush mount with a simple, classic fabric drum shade (I especially love the white linen!):

Light #nine is {this quatrefoil fixture} in our home’s entryway – it’s one of the first ones that I bought for our house because the previous owners took theirs with them when they moved out. It’s the most I’ve ever spent on a lighting fixture but it’s your very first impression as you walk in our home and a fixture that’s seen not only in the entryway but also from the dining room and living room. I love it and will probably follow in the footsteps of our home’s previous owners and take this baby with me when it’s time to move on!

It comes in two finish options:
Light #ten is {this star shaped flush mount} that’s big on style! I absolutely love it and chose it as the flush mount lighting for our laundry room:
That wraps up my top ten! Do you guys have any favorites on the list or ones that I didn’t mention? I’m always on the hunt for great fixtures so would love to hear about them in the comments! And in case you want to be able to find this post easily in the future, you can Pin the image below:

Kris,
I work full time at a job I love. That said, I don’t have as much time to shop online. I love your style and you can’t believe how thrilled I am with your findings, so thank you! We’re moving next month and will be making our improvements on our new home, so your information and links will definitely come in handy.

Great selection Kris. We’ve lived in our home now for 25 years and it’s time to update some of our lighting (wear and style). Thanks for doing the research.

I have a 9 foot ceiling in our dining area….is that too tall for a semi flush mounted light fixture? ( I have an issue centering a chandelier style over my table as the room is rectangular and the fixture location isn’t quite where I’d like it. ). Thought with a higher light fixture it wouldn’t be as noticeable? Could you give me your advice on this please? Thanks so much!

Thank you. Do these fixtures accept LED bulbs?
Tiffany says
All I can say is THANK YOU!!! It’s like you’re in my head right now 🙂 Perfect timing as I look for statement flushmounts for a home with low ceilings!

Which are best for the kitchen?
Kris Jarrett says
I prefer to use simple recessed can lights (from an electrician) for general lighting in kitchens and then pendants for over kitchen islands and tables. You can see some of my favorite pendants at the end of this post: https://www.drivenbydecor.com/favorite-home-lighting-light-fixtures/

Do you have a recommendation for a flush light fixture that can replace a rectangular flourescent kitchen light box? We do not want a small light, nor do we want a chandelier. We are likely not getting recessed lighting in the kitchen, nor will we get pendant lights, but maybe I can change out that thing for a normal light, it just has to give off enough light.
Thank you.
Corinne says
I’d love an answer to this conundrum as well.
Kris Jarrett says
Unfortunately I’ve never had a home where I’ve had a fixture like that to swap out so I don’t have a recommendation of anything I’ve used in the past.

Hi Kris! I found this post/article on Instagram 🙂 Love your picks. I did notice that the picture on Instagram has a fixture that has beads, for lack of a better word, and had “this one is $$” written above it. However, I don’t see it in your post. Do you have information on that fixture? Thanks so much!
