If you’ve ever gone hunting for a beautiful flush mount ceiling light, you already know the struggle is real! There are a TON of options, but truly stylish ones? Those take some digging. In our previous home where most of our ceilings were only 7½ feet high, in some rooms any lighting with a drop just wasn’t practical. So I was constantly scrolling through page after page of lighting, searching for those rare flush mount ceiling lights that actually elevate a space.
Today I’m sharing a curated collection of my favorite flush mount ceiling lights, including several that I chose for my current and previous homes (and some I’m eyeing for our new build too!). Whether you’re refreshing a room on a budget or investing in a statement piece, you’ll find the best flush mount ceiling lights for every budget in my picks! (post includes commissionable links; for more information, see my full disclosure statement {here})
Best Budget-Friendly Flush Mount Ceiling Lights
When choosing a flush mount ceiling light on a tighter budget, the key is to lean into clean lines and simple silhouettes. Inexpensive fixtures with elaborate designs tend to miss the mark, but a simple design done well can feel effortlessly elevated.
These are a few of my under $200 favorites (with several priced under $100):

Source Links: 1. Simple Circular | 2. Metal Dome | 3. Scalloped Rattan (Under $100)| 4. Fabric Drum | 5. Pleated | 6. Glass Bubbles | 7. Brass Seashell | 8. 20″ Cane Wrapped or 16″ Cane Wrapped (under $100) | 9. Linen Scalloped (also check out {this similar scalloped fixture} (under $100)
One of my favorite examples of this simple-is-best approach for budget-friendly lighting is {this versatile flush mount light} that comes in four different finish options. I chose it in the warm brass finish for the guest bathroom of our previous home, and it brings just the right amount of warmth and polish without trying too hard:

Another reason I love it? It holds three lightbulbs, which means it gives off plenty of light – something that’s not always a given with flush mounts. I loved it so much for the guest bathroom in our previous home that I bought it again for our laundry room:

Laundry Room Sources: Tangerine wall decals | Butcher block countertop (similar) | Ceiling light | Over the Door Ironing Board Hanger | Acrylic Cabinet pulls (Golden Champagne finish) | Glass Storage Jars | IKEA Laundry Room Cabinets
Another simple flush mount fixture that’s similar in design and comes in a TON of paint and metal finish combinations is {this flush mount light} that we have in the powder room of our current home. I have this matte white with brass combo:

If you’d like a flush mount light fixture that adds some texture to your space, {this rattan flush mount ceiling light} in a cloverleaf design is a great look at a great price:

If you prefer a fabric shade for your flush mount ceiling light, {this fabric shade drum flush mount has a simple design that would elevate the look of any space without being the center of attention. I love the antique brass and white linen combo:

If you’re looking for a semi-flush mount light that comes down just a few inches from the ceiling, {this pleated shade flush-mount} caught my eye:

Looking for a flush mount ceiling light with a bit of whimsy? {This cluster glass bubble semi-flush mount} is a fun one!

It’s a great look-for-less version of {this expensive designer light fixture}.
{This warm brass and seashell fixture} is another more decorative flush mount ceiling light that has an eye-catching design while maintaining that tasteful simplicity:

For all of you coastal decor lovers, another light fixture you’ll love is {this 20″ cane-wrapped flush mount ceiling light}:

You can get a similar light fixture in a 16″ size for under $100 {here}.
Want a light fixture that’s a bit more decorative? {This 17″ scalloped flush mount} is a winner! It has a similar design to the more expensive scalloped light we had in our bedroom in Connecticut (I’ll share that fixture later in this post) but without the contrasting trim:

Also check out {this similar light fixture} for under $100.
Tip: A lot of budget-friendly flush mount lights are SMALL! Nothing looks worse than a dinky light in the middle of a large room, so pay attention to the diameter of the light fixture you’re considering. As a general guide, choose fixtures that are at least 14″-18″ in small rooms, 16″-22″ in medium-sized rooms, and 20″+ in large rooms.
Mid-Priced Flush Mount Ceiling Lights
Moving on to mid-priced flush mount ceiling lights (I used a range of $200-$500 at the time of posting), there are some real beauties:

Source Links: 1. Linen Cone | 2. Floral Capiz | 3. Glass Star | 4. Scalloped Raffia |. 5. Metal Drum Semi-Flush | 6. Double Row Scalloped Drum | 7. Wood Beads | 8. Crystal Drop | 9. Conical Semi-Flush
We’ll kick it off with {this gorgeous light fixture} that’s super simple yet chic and comes in brushed satin and oil-rubbed bronze finishes. I’ve seen it used in so many homes, and it always delivers! The way that you see the inner metal ring when you’re looking up from beneath it is such a special touch:

If you’re decorating a girls bedroom or bathroom (or even a laundry room or powder room), I think {this floral capiz flush mount light} is so darling:

Also a great light for a laundry room or bathroom, I have {this star-shaped flush mount} in the laundry room of our current home and love it! It’s so simple and beautiful:

As a sucker for anything raffia or rattan, I’m smitten by {this scalloped raffia semi-flush mount ceiling light} that adds warmth, texture, and a touch of whimsy:

If you’re looking for a flush mount ceiling light for a home office, I loved {this metal drum semi-flush mount light} we had in the office of our previous home. It’s a little more formal and sophisticated than some of the others and comes in gold and brushed nickel finishes:

It takes 3 light bulbs at up to 100 watts each so it’s a great ceiling light to have in a room with no other light sources.
{This drum-shaped light with a double row of scallops} is another favorite. It’s whimsical yet sophisticated and would be pretty in an entryway, bathroom, or bedroom:

If you gravitate toward more of a boho or farmhouse style, {this wood bead light fixture} is such a pretty option:

Looking for a glam option? While that can be hard to find in a flush mount, {this crystal drop flush mount light} is a beauty:

And wrapping up our mid-priced options is {this conical semi-flush} that’s versatile enough to use in almost any space in your home. You can mix and match the two shade options (white or sand) and two finish options (aged brass or oil-rubbed bronze). I love how they look hung in this beautiful hallway:

Higher-End Flush Mount Ceiling Lights
Now moving on to the higher-end flush mount ceiling lights at $500 and up. It’s no surprise that there are a TON of beautiful options at this higher price point – it was fun to see what’s out there with no price limit in mind!

Source Links: 1. Scalloped Wood Beads | 2. Clover-Shaped Glass Rods | 3. Capiz Honeycomb | 4. Rattan Circle Design | 5. Black-Lined Fabric Scallop | 6. Wood & Coco Bead Dome | 7. Glass & Gold Leaf | 8. Woven Raffia
I absolutely LOVE the beading on {this wood bead scalloped flush mount} and have it as a final contender for the laundry room of our future modern Tudor home:

It’s a generous 23″ wide, which is hard to find with flush mount ceiling lights.
{This clover-shaped, brass-lined light fixture} with glass rods is such an elegant flush mount option:

It’s also available with a dark metal lining or as a fully metal option (without the glass rods) in a black, brass, or polished nickel metal. In addition to the 17″ wide option, it’s available in a smaller 11″ size {here}.
{This capiz honeycomb light fixture}, which comes in 16″ and 21″ sizes, is the flush mount version of {this pendant} that I have in the entryway of our current home:

One of my favorite things about the pendant (and that I’d assume is the same with the flush mount version) is how the capiz material filters the light to create a soft glow.
If you want to lean into a tropical or bohemian vibe, {this patterned rattan flush mount} would be a perfect fit. I love that it’s a generously sized 19.5″ wide:

I bought {this black-lined scalloped fabric shade fixture} for the master bedroom of our previous home and still love it. We had 7 ½ ft ceilings in our room, so our lighting options were limited and this fixture instantly elevated our space:

Since the time I bought this fixture (almost 10 years ago), it has DOUBLED in price and there are now several more budget-friendly fixtures with a similar design. The DIYer in me wonders if you could wrap black fabric tape around the edges of {this scalloped flush mount} for a great look-for-less version!
While super pricey, another fixture I love is {this wood and coco bead fixture} that’s the flush mount version of {this chandelier} we have in our dining room:

Distant photographs honestly don’t do it justice – the intricate beading is stunning in person:

One warning though – the beads on the side closest to the window in our dining room have darkened in color over time, so this fixture (and the flush mount version) might not be the best choice in sun-filled rooms.
If you have a room where your ceilings are too low for a chandelier but you want the vibe of one, {this 19.5″ wide glass & gold leaf fixture} is stunning!

And lastly, {this woven raffia flush mount} with an acrylic diffuser is beautiful for a coastal vibe. It comes with integrated LED lighting:

Tip: Did you know that most light fixtures with integrated LED lighting aren’t designed to have replaceable bulbs? While these fixtures can last years and years, when they fail you may need to get a whole new fixture or get an electrician involved (sometimes they can replace the LED driver). So read specifications and warranty information carefully and keep track of your purchasing receipt in case you have problems during the warranty period (which happened to me when my LED blew due to a close lighting strike).
That wraps up my top fixtures! Do you guys have any favorites on the list or have flush mounts you love that aren’t on my list? Share them with the rest of us in the comments!

Great selection Kris. We’ve lived in our home now for 25 years and it’s time to update some of our lighting (wear and style). Thanks for doing the research.
