It’s Week 6 of the One Room Challenge and you know what that means – it’s time for the big reveal! If you’ve been following along each week, you know that I’ve been working on my tween daughter’s bedroom. Thanks so much for being my cheering squad along the way – I can’t tell you how much I have appreciated all of your sweet comments! Are you ready? Let’s get the pictures going…. It’s always fun to look back and remember the “before”:

My favorite DIY project of the ORC is my daughter’s new upholstered headboard. See my full post on her DIY upholstered headboard for the step by step details!
The colors in the room include various shades of blue and green along with a few pops of yellow:

The bedskirt is a simple DIY made from from a polka dot sheet (the DIY tutorial is {here}):

We already had the swing chair but I livened it up with a new cushion and some pillows:

and of course the magazine holder had to be filled with tween magazines (can you believe that they still sell Tiger Beat?!)

On the other side of the room, we hung DIY paper rosettes above her MALM chest – an easy, inexpensive way to add some color and pattern (see {this post} for how-to on making paper rosettes):

A mirror turned vanity tray holds her ever growing nail polish collection:

We still have a little project to do with purses that we’ve collected in colors matching the space – for now, a few of them sit on top of her chest of drawers to hold some of the zillion little things that typically end up all over the floor of her room.

My daughter doesn’t like anything weathered or vintage but I was able to sneak in this little guy:

And I finally finished up the closet doors – they took longer than I expected but I love how they turned out! You’ll find my follow-up post on how I transformed the doors {here}

Throughout the challenge, I was able to cross off most of my bedroom remodel to-do list. We did (thank goodness) end up scrapping a few projects along the way, including the bed canopy and the wall lights over the bed. And we still need to change out the ceiling light fixture for a glitzy chandelier once we can finally find one we can agree on. But most importantly, I was able to cross off the last item on my week 1 to-do list:
