Serena & Lily wallpaper is one of my favorites! Their prints are beautiful and their wallpaper is high quality and easy to hang. I’m sharing real-life examples of Serena & Lily wallpapers installed in rooms to help you decide which one’s right for you!
After moving into our house in Connecticut several years ago, I had the “fun” task of taking down a TON of dated wallpaper. It was a great lesson in how to remove wallpaper, but even once I perfected my technique, I swore I’d never use wallpaper again! Well.. that didn’t last long! Wallpaper adds a style and sophistication that you simply can’t get from paint alone.
About 80% of the wallpaper I’ve used is from Serena & Lily because they have so many simple yet gorgeous designs that are a great match for my design aesthetic. And their price point for most of their papers is actually fairly reasonable considering the high quality and that most of their papers are priced as double rolls. It’s so helpful to see what wallpapers look like installed so today I’m sharing pics of my favorite wallpapered rooms in my local Serena & Lily store plus the wallpapered rooms in my own home. (post includes commissionable links; for more information, see my disclosure statement {here})
Let’s kick things off with grasscloth wallpaper…
Serena & Lily Grasscloth Wallpaper
Grasscloth wallpaper is one of the more expensive wallpapers (it can easily be 3-4 times the price of typical wallpaper) because a lot goes into making it. Installing it floor to ceiling in an entire room would be quite pricey, but there are a lot of options for using wallpaper in ways that only require a roll or two. Two of my favorite wallpaper ideas for using less paper are to wallpaper the back of a bookcase or above or below a chair rail in a room.
One beautiful example is {this gorgeous grasscloth in “washed indigo”} that was installed below the chair rail in Serena & Lily’s Westport store. I absolutely love the variation of the blue and natural tones and how it warms up the room:

And with such a small amount of wall space below the chair rail (only this area shown plus a small area on the other side), they were probably able to get away with using just one roll:

Another favorite of mine is {this patterned grasscloth wallpaper} that was used to line the back of a pair of bookcases. Can you imagine how much less interesting this space would be with the back of those bookcases painted white??

It’s the grasscloth wallpaper along with {this gorgeous round mirror} above the fireplace that really stand out when you walk into this space:

If you’ve never hung wallpaper before, wallpapered bookshelves are a great place to start – see my tips on wallpaper installation for the wallpaper glue I recommend and other hanging tips.
This small eat-in banquette area is another space where Serena & Lily used just a small amount of ({this grasscloth wallpaper} in navy) to add an interesting pop of color and texture:

Sources: Round dining table | Throw pillows | Round rattan mirror
I have two spaces in my previous home where I used grasscloth. Neither of these grasscloths is from Serena & Lily but I’ll still share in case you’re on the hunt for similar wallpaper. I used {this grasscloth} in powder blue above the chair rail in my oldest daughter’s bedroom:

Room Sources: Gold quatrefoil pendant | Art above bed – left, right | Leather weave bench | Acrylic lamp | Bedding is no longer available
I also used {this charcoal grasscloth} to line the back of the bookcases in our family room – it’s one of my favorite little details about this space:

Hanging the grasscloth in my daughter’s room was much more challenging than I expected (check out my post on hanging grasscloth wallpaper for details) but the small amount I hung in my bookcases was pretty easy to do on my own because I was able to pre-cut most of it. Hanging regular wallpaper in is MUCH easier than grasscloth so for any large jobs, I recommend calling in a professional.
Serena & Lily Striped & Plaid Wallpaper
Simple stripes and plaid are always a win when it comes to fabrics and wallpaper! I love this simple striped wallpaper in Sand (found {here}) that’s used on an accent wall in this Serena & Lily kitchen:

Serena & Lily Patterned Wallpaper
For wallpapers that have more motion and are a bit busier than a plaid or stripe, papering just a small accent wall is perfect! I used Serena & Lily’s Priano wallpaper with leafy vines (found {here}) on just a single wall in our small craft room:

and also on the back wall of our hoard closet, which you can see in my post on how to organize a storage closet.
Another patterned Serena & Lily wallpaper that I love is {this Granada wallpaper}. I used it to wallpaper our powder room on the wall space above our bathroom shiplap:

Sources: Shiplap | 2-Light sconce | Round rattan mirror | Vanity | Striped planter | Woven soap pump | Towel ring (stainless) | Vanity baskets (large) | Toilet | Woven toilet tray (small) | Bird art print (18 x 24) with White wood frame (similar)
I even snuck a little Serena & Lily grasscloth wallpaper into this room remodel, covering {this waste basket} with a remnant of {this grasscloth wallpaper}.
I covered the back of our family room bookcases with {this Palmetto wallpaper} and I think it might be my favorite of all of their wallpapers I’ve used:

Sources: Oak shelves | Woven owl | White bubble planter | Fern art | Star pod | White candlesticks | White square frame (8.3″ x 8.3″) | Burlwood frame (11″ x 13″) | Elephant bookend | Decorative black & white box | Coral “topper” (similar) | Bust planter | Round basket
Serena & Lily Geometric Wallpaper
When I redid the our small bonus room that’s a hangout for my girls, I originally had a more subtle wallpaper planned. But when it went out of stock I got impatient and pulled the trigger on {this Serena & Lily Feathers wallpaper} that’s much more bold. I actually think it was luck that the other wallpaper was sold out because my second choice ended up working out better than I think my first choice would have:

Room Sources: Daybed | White quilted Euro shams (similar) | Blue & white block print pillow covers (similar) | Cozy pom pom throw (similar) | Brass sputnik flush mount light fixture | Roman shades | White Moroccan leather poufs
The wallpaper color I used in my space is “Denim” which makes a fairly bold statement but you can see from this space at Serena & Lily that the same wallpaper in a more subtle color option has a much softer feel:

Serena & Lily’s Luna Stripe
I’m not even sure what category to group this Serena & Lily wallpaper into since it’s part stripe and part geometric so it gets its own little category – it’s their Luna Stripe wallpaper found {here}. It’s gorgeous in this blue on blue color (and how cute is this little bed nook?!):

But I absolutely fell in love with it in the “Smoke” color option. It looked so amazing in this Serena & Lily bedroom (I also love {this gorgeous dresser}):

I couldn’t stop taking pictures of this space – it’s such a stunner. I could transport every single piece into my own bedroom and be as happy as could be. And the large scale art in the bedroom is amazing too, isn’t it?! They are original art pieces by Vesela Baker – you can see more of her stunning art pieces {here}.

Room Sources: Rug | Chandelier | Rattan chair | Pillow on chair | Bench | Teak ladder | Bed | Side table | Table lamp
I loved it so much that I chose it for wallpapering our entryway:

Entryway Sources: Console | White table lamp | 30″ x 40″ Framed art print | Decorative snail | Wave coral – HomeGoods | Shallow wood bowl | Glass beads | Cube ottomans
You can see more pics of our entryway in my post on entryway decor ideas.
There are so many beautiful options – which is your favorite? If you’ve got a wallpapering project of your own coming up and want to be able to easily find this post, be sure to Pin this image below:
