You guys all know about Royal Design Studio and their fantastic stencils, right?! A friend of mine recently used one of their stencils to create a stunning design on her dining room table and I thought it turned out so beautifully that I asked to take a few pics to share with you. The stencil she chose is the Circle of Life African Stencil:
I don’t have a “before” picture of her table, but it is a Duncan Phyfe table with a twin pedestal base that she got for a steal at a local antique mall. It looked very similar to this:
My friend painted the table base white, put a base coat of Sherwin Williams’ Porpoise on the table top, and then hired out for the stenciling. The dark stenciling was done using Porter’s Phantom Mist (the same color as the dining room walls) and Benjamin Moore’s White Dove. Once all of the stenciling was dry, the entire table top was coated with a mixture of Valspar’s Brilliant Metals and Sherwin Williams’ Faux Impressions Latex Glaze (which softened the colors and created a subtle sheen) followed by two coats of polyurethane. Stunning!
As is the rest of the dining room:
This project’s got me itching to try out some stenciling of my own!
