Swoon – it was love at first sight! I’ve been looking to replace my old king headboard for months, but hadn’t found the right combination of high style and low price until I came across this beauty. The carved bird normally perched on the headboard was MIA but I’m not sure if I’d keep it on their anyway so no big deal. I ended up getting the Claudette for about half the price it would have cost me to buy her from the catalog and have her shipped – woo hoo! And while Claudette is no shorty at 66″, I wanted my headboard to have some good height so I bought a pair of these bun feet,
I was back at the Ballard Outlet this week and took a few pictures to give you an idea of some of the great things you can get and how their prices compare to the catalog/online. The Sofia Sofa is so pretty – I think that every time I’ve been to the outlet over the past several months they have had Sofia furniture (the sofa, chair, or settee). The Sofia sofa retails at $1,599 and was selling at the outlet for $1,278.99.
If you live near one of the Ballard Designs’ Outlets or are traveling to the Cincinnati or Atlanta area for the holidays, definitely check it out! It helps to look at their weekly specials (you’ll see the link in the “Good Things to Know” section in each of the three outlets’ description) before you go to see if it looks like a good week for a deal on the type of item you are hunting for. They also typically offer several doorbusters of discontinued items that can be amazing deals. Happy shopping!
Hi! I too came across this great Ballard Design Claudette headboard and loved your idea of adding the bun feet. Where did you get those? Thanks from Bucks County, PA.
Hi Diane – I ordered those bun feet online but it was years ago and unfortunately the website I ordered from isn’t around anymore. Sorry I can’t help!
